If there is one restaurant which you should visit in Matera, THIS is the one. Literally. Stop scrolling, stop looking around, this is the best. 1. The hospitality and service is unmatched. They are so kind in here, they make you feel like you’re at home. Amazing people. 2. The food. I can talk for hours about it. An explosion of flavours. So well done. SO, SO, SO TASTY!!! AND ALSO THEY HAVE GLUTEN FREE!!!!!!!! Amazing gluten free pasta! Amazing gluten AND lactose free profiteroles! Amazing soup! Incredible dishes! 3. The atmosphere - you’re sitting in a an authentic cave-looking place which 1000 years ago used to be a church. And there are frescoes on the walls. Really, truly amazing. The only negative is that we found them too late.

Very characteristic restaurant in the Sassi of Matera, the owner stopped to chat with us and explained that the place was a church which then became a cellar and finally a restaurant. Simple but excellent food as well as excellent quality/price ratio, I definitely recommend it if I could I would absolutely return

Ebbene! Vagando come pazzi per la stupenda Matera ad un certo punto - affamati e disidratati - siamo entrati in questo locale semi sotterraneo. Fresco quando basta, accogliente e particolare nel semplice e piacevole arredamento. E subito proposto il Menù Euro 20: - orecchiette con salsiccia e pomodorini caramellati. - insalata verde mista, fresca e ristoratrice. - calice di vino in bottiglia a scelta (ottimo un rosé consigliato dalla gentilissima Signora). - acqua gas/no gas a volontà. - caffè. - dolce (lo hanno preso solo le bambine). Ecco il gioco è fatto. Atmosfera piacevole, servizio di buon livello... Insomma un piacere aver pranzato ed esserci ristorati da voi. Grazie!
