The atmosphere is airy, well-decorated, and bright; the tables are too small. I personally don't appreciate a bare tablecloth, especially when the space is so small, but I understand the stylistic choice. The amatriciana is good; the tonnarelli cacio e pepe and the mezzemaniche alla carbonara (€14) are excellent. The pinsa is not bad. Service is reasonably fast and efficient. The restrooms are very clean.

A beautiful hotel, with enormous rooms and elegant and welcoming common areas. Their philosophy of sustainability and low environmental impact makes them unique.

My experience was fantastic. The waiter, sam, was friendly and very helpful with both the service and his recommendations. While the restaurant isn’t strictly halal-certified, there are alternative options available. Since I was looking for halal choices, I asked for the waiter’s advice and opinion. I highly recommend asking the staff for assistance if you have specific dietary requirements.

The food was really delicious and the server was friendly. I had pasta, fried zucchini blossoms, fried artichokes, and calamari, and I think I'll keep thinking about them... Each dish was fried using a different method and was truly tasty.

It was okay. Unfortunately, the pizzas were greasy and the crust was more soft than crispy; the pasta was al dente but contained hardly any of the fresh ingredients listed on the menu. The service was uninterested.

There's no better way to sum up a visit to the Borghese Gallery than a visit to a good restaurant, and Ai Fienaroli is undoubtedly one such place. The atmosphere is friendly—not overly stiff, but simply pleasant. The waitress is very pleasant—discreet and not pushy (which I hate). The quality of the food is excellent (I recommend the sparkling water—the best I've ever had). The most important element for me, however, is the atmosphere, or rather the soundscape—very good here (in fact, outstanding compared to other establishments). My only suggestion would be to lower the low-frequency level of the music-generating equipment by about 5 dB, as the bass is too dominant. This is a minor detail, as it wasn't too distracting during conversation, and for me, this is a basic indicator of comfort in a restaurant, no matter how good it is. In summary, the Borghese Gallery and Ai Fienaroli are perfectly complementary places—a golden ratio between mind and body!

If you're looking for a delicious dinner in a friendly atmosphere after visiting the Borghese Gallery, this is the place to go. Start with the artichokes. They're divine!

Taverna Cestia

02/05/2026: I go there often, good value for money.
29/04/2026: This restaurant is highly addictive: I ordered lamb “abbacchio with vegetables” and I wanted more. My wife ordered eggplant “melanzane al forno” and defined them “the best I ever had.” The salad greens were highly selected from unusual plants. Finally, the Grappa was very, very smooth. I jokingly told the owner that he is running “a drug den” because his food is like a drug: too good. We will go there for sure next time we come to Rome!

Picchiapò

04/04/2026: A fabulous place to savor traditional Roman cuisine. Everything's delicious, and the prices are fair!
26/03/2026: We went on a Monday evening. The place is small, aesthetically unimpressive, but we had a good time. For four of us, we ordered (the kitchen will forgive us...) three different first courses: cacio e pepe (the best), carbonara (good), gricia (the least convincing). It's a shame they ran out of parmigiana. The artichokes alla giudia were good. The boiled meat alla picchiapò was tender. It may not embody the quintessential Roman osteria, but the staff is courteous, the prices are good, and the dishes are equally delicious.
