Discovered in February on my first trip to Venezia. One of those rare places that makes you feel at home. Small, cozy, in a beautiful side of the city far away from the annoying tourists. Food, srvice, and atmosphere were just superb.

Superb trattoria, charming staff speaking French very well, excellent homemade Venetian specialties, very good lemon tarts and the best tiramisu in Venice!

Trattoria ai Cugnai dal 1911 offers great value for money in a city where prices can often surprise you. The food was served impressively fast, and everything we ordered was fresh, flavourful, and satisfying. The cosy courtyard adds a charming, authentic touch to the dining experience. It’s a popular spot for good reason, so we strongly recommend booking in advance - during peak times, the queue can be quite long, and you might end up waiting if you haven’t reserved a table. One less positive note: we felt a bit uncomfortable with the service. Despite making it clear that we didn’t speak Italian, the waiter continued to address us in it, which made the interaction feel a little strained. While nothing serious occurred, as paying guests, we believe that a basic level of mutual respect and consideration should always be present - regardless of where someone comes from. We didn’t stay for dessert, partly because we felt slightly rushed, as if our table was needed for the next guests. Still, the quality and speed of the meal itself were excellent, and we would return - perhaps at a quieter time - and hopefully served by someone else, as we believe the experience could have felt completely different with a warmer, more attentive approach.

Estábamos un poco aprensivos ya que el restaurante estaba en una zona muy concurrida, pero estábamos cortos de tiempo, yendo de una exposición reservada a otra El restaurante estaba ocupado y el personal de camareros estaba muy ocupado Sin embargo, el menú ofrecía un montón de opciones tradicionales y la comida se materializó bastante rápido Los camareros fueron buenos guiándonos a través del menú y mostraron buen humor La comida era muy buena sin estirar demasiado las habilidades culinarias Fue perfecto para la ocasión y lo disfrutamos

Nous avons été manger deux soirs durant notre séjours de 4 nuits à Venise. Le service était très agréable, serveurs sympathiques, accueil cordial. Une belle carte bien fournie avec des prix démocratiques. Nos plats étaient tous excellents et goûteux. Produits frais et bien assaisonnés. Un Prosecco très bon pour un prix honnête. Nous recommandons cette petite adresse qui a tout d une grande! Un merci tout spécial à Tonino qui a été charmant et un ami pour notre grand chien Giorgio. Giovanni et Bali on été aussi très agréable.
