Ai Cugnai In Venezia

I ate here twice on my recent trip to Venice. It is simply delicious Venetian home style cooking. It has a reputation of being popular with the gondolieri for lunch, and there was always a line of French tourists waiting to eat here! I strongly recommend the pastichio de pesce, which is essentially a fish lasagna. I also had the vegetable soup and the frito mjsto which were both good. Very friendly owned and staff.

Update 08/11/25 I returned with friends and my friend Stefano "EL venesian" I confirm...!! Great Gimmy and his staff. Venetian specialties and more. Excellent value for money. A small, cute, clean trattoria frequented by locals, including gondoliers. (AND THAT'S A BUSINESS CARD.) The owner, Gimmy, a young man who has been well-established in Venetian cuisine for years, offers express dishes with the freshest fish. I had a second helping of spaghetti with clams. My wife had spaghetti with seafood. Then a very light and flavorful fried fish. Excellent value for money. Went with my friend Stefano from the historic Caffè Poggi, located next door, where, in addition to excellent coffee, they also have all sorts of specialty sweets and wines that they order from all over Italy. This restaurant is a bit overrated and nothing special; we were a little disappointed. There's no gluten-free pasta option either, but they do have fish and vegetables.

Amazing food. Great quality, incredible service and reasonable price (specially for the quality that you get). Best spaghetti carbonara in many years.

Very tasty! Cuttlefish pasta and fish lasagna 🥇 lemon tart delicious 🍰 fried shrimp and deep-fried sardines delicious, but surprisingly cold. Very cool atmosphere 😍

Great, local restaurant serving classic Venetian food. Our waiter was fantastic. Great atmosphere and much better spot to eat than any of the tourist traps slinging pasta in the more trafficked areas of town. Take the walk.
