Important note: the restaurant is located at Via Alzaia Trieste 2/3, not Via Bozzi, as erroneously reported by Google and other search engines (at least as of July 20, 2025). Once we found the location, everything was perfect: friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent food (we didn't try the pizza, but the focaccia was exquisite, fragrant, and with just the right balance of softness and crunchiness), incredibly fresh fish (the sea bream with wild fennel and Grand Marnier was spectacular, especially), and the desserts, both traditional and otherwise, were all excellent. Dogs are welcome and pampered. Although technically not accessible due to the steps, the restaurant is accessible thanks to the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, who go out of their way to help overcome any obstacles. The price is absolutely fair, in fact, quite reasonable for the quality (the portions are generous!). Definitely worth a try.

The fish was good. There was a problem with the Chianina beef, a misunderstanding with the waitress (she didn't ask us how the meat was cooked, and we weren't ready to tell her how we wanted it; perhaps she was a novice, perhaps she needs a little experience... a lady of few words and very "reserved," so to speak; the other waitresses, on the other hand, seemed very kind and attentive).
Anyway, everything was resolved at the cash register with the very kind owner.

Personal experience.
The pizza was too dry, really dry. I imagined it topped with mozzarella, radicchio, and arugula.... Instead, just two white dots of mozzarella, radicchio, I don't know. There was arugula, yes.... In fact, arugula pizza. I asked for chili pepper oil to soften and flavor it, but (it tasted like old oil), at least the one I chose. Thin, hard dough, especially considering the knives that don't cut.
Nice place, but the tables are close together.
It was nice with air conditioning.
The only room they put us in was nice at first glance, a photo of Totò with a quote, then you look up next to you at a little balcony made especially for it, with a railing and a flower pot.... Nice, yes, but too bad there's a door under the balcony that says "toilet"... I mean, NO, I didn't say anything because there weren't many people, there wasn't much coming and going... but in that room, you eat next to the toilet.
So if you book, you know where you don't want to be snooped on.

We had to wait a long time to get the pizzas, plus it's expensive for the service they offer.

Livella is a traditional familiar Italian restaurant.
The owners are at the front desk and are always helpful. You can taste a bit of all of Italy there, especially pizzas and pasta.
