Le Colonne Marziale

Caserta, Caserta, 20-30€
29/09/2025: We had a wonderful meal, delicious dishes, prepared with care and skill. Recommended for those seeking a fine dining experience. The only downside was the atmosphere: the air conditioning didn't work as it should have, making our stay less pleasant. With some improvement in this area, the experience would be perfect.
13/09/2025: I went to Le Colonne – Chef Rosanna Marziale for a quick lunch, but the experience was anything but a "quick" one: full of surprises, flavor, and attention to detail. Location & Atmosphere The restaurant is located in Caserta, on Viale Giulio Douhet, near the Royal Palace; the Marziale family has run it for generations, maintaining strong ties to the Campania region. The atmosphere is elegant but not overly formal, welcoming; the service is professional, friendly, and attentive to every need. Signature Dishes That Made Her Famous Chef Marziale is known for some now iconic creations: Pizza al contrario (Pizza Upside Down), a fried mozzarella ball stuffed with basil tagliolini, and mussel soup in black mozzarella milk. Our Experience (the dishes we tried) Various dishes offered by the chef. Delicious Pizza al contrario (Pizza Upside Down): excellent. Crispy, clean, well-balanced, with local ingredients (San Marzano tomatoes, DOP buffalo mozzarella, and cafone bread). I was truly satisfied. Fried dough ball / stuffed mozzarella ball: I had very high expectations, and unfortunately, this dish fell a little short. Desserts: Three different desserts, all excellent, but the dessert that blew me away was the fried dough ball with cocoa-infused buffalo mozzarella—a truly exceptional result: deep in flavor, with well-crafted contrasts, a must-try. Staff and Hospitality The waiter who served us was very professional: attentive, courteous, and present without being intrusive. I appreciated the moment Chef Marziale came to say hello: you can sense her passion, dedication, and humility, despite her success. She is an exceptional person who puts her heart into what she does. Conclusion Le Colonne is an experience not to be missed if you love innovative Campania cuisine, with a strong sense of place and ingredients. It's the kind of restaurant where every dish tells you you're in the right place, even if some expectations weren't entirely met (in this case, the fried pasta ball).

Quattro Passi

Massa lubrense, Napoli, 20-30€
13/10/2025: I can confidently say that this restaurant was the best experience I had in Italy. I was treated most warmly by the restaurant with first-class service, which made the experience even more delightful. The interior was majestic, with open windows to enjoy the spectacular weather coming from the sea. The food was sublime. Some highlights for me were: 1. Appetizer, inspired by Quattro Passi's early days as a pizzeria 2. Mullet Wafer: Must-try, my favorite dish. I can't emphasize this dish enough, I'm confident this is the best fish I've ever tasted in my life. 3. Tomato pasta: It looks like any normal tomato pasta, with only noodle and red sauce, but the flavor is out of this world. Really really surprised by the flavor, the richness of the tomato is so dense, it completely dominates. 4. Saffron, rice, chocolate tart: Wonderfully rich flavor, with fun textures coming from the rice grains It's quite difficult to travel there, but I sincerely wish I can enjoy another meal at this place again in the future.
11/10/2025: "An unforgettable culinary experience! The service at 4Passi was top-notch, thanks to the courtesy and professionalism of the staff. The staff was welcoming and attentive, ensuring a refined and personalized dining experience. The cuisine was impeccable, with artistically presented dishes and exquisite flavors. I highly recommend 4Passi to anyone looking for a high-quality dining experience and impeccable service. 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

Vesuvio Roof Restaurant

Sant'agnello, Napoli, 20-30€
11/10/2025: Wow! This place is truly amazing, from start to finish we were blown away. The views of the bay are great, but the views inside with the art and decor are equally impressive. The service is above and beyond at every turn. We loved the cocktail recommendations to start, they allowed us to order a cheese plate from the dessert menu to start (even suggesting a great wine pairing) and helped us customize a beautiful, relaxed 2.5 hour dining experience. The kitchen sent a surprise starter course and an extra dessert on the house, and all the food was excellent. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to any Americans traveling to sorrento, everyone spoke fluent English and we felt right at home. Well most certainly be back the next time we’re in Italy 🇮🇹
09/10/2025: Excellent location, amazing views, romantic, great food and service! You will not be disappointed!

Riso Amaro

Fondi, Latina, 20-30€
22/07/2025: We found this place by chance while looking for a gourmet restaurant to dine at after a day at the beach. We were pleasantly surprised by the simple yet elegant setting, and the outdoor space is very pretty and well-maintained. The waitress was very good and attentive in her recommendations, and we enjoyed two seafood tasting menus. Of these, we truly enjoyed the tuna tartare and the cod maritozzo with mock cappuccino. The best dish, however, was the pettola with cream of beans and shellfish, with chicory powder—truly incredible. The wine recommendation was excellent. A negative note for the chef's aperitif: although the drink was truly special, the amuse bouche seemed a bit "old," cold and lacking in crispiness. However, the white fish main course with pea parfait was unimpressive and lacked much flavor. The desserts were polar opposites: while the exotic dessert was an explosion of flavors and textures in the mouth, the hazelnut and raspberry dessert had unpleasant textures and almost no flavor. We were very pleased with the pre-dessert and the small pastries. Overall, it was a very positive experience and one I would repeat, especially since the price is perfect for everything you eat; I didn't find it too high for the cuisine, ingredients used, and service.
18/07/2025: We were in Fondi for family reasons, not for a planned vacation, and for this reason, discovering Riso Amaro was even more surprising. My wife, while searching for a good restaurant in the area, spotted this Michelin-starred establishment, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. It's located in the historic center of the city, just behind the castle: a charming area, rich in history and atmosphere. The restaurant is elegant, well-maintained, and very clean. We dined on the patio, in a quiet and convivial setting, surrounded by a courteous clientele. The welcome was warm and the service impeccable, with special mention to the head waiter: kind, attentive, and knowledgeable in her wine selection. We opted for the five-course seafood tasting menu, accompanied by matching wines. The experience was excellent: beautifully presented, creative dishes rooted in local tradition, prepared with high-quality ingredients and enriched with international touches—such as Japanese-inspired sauces or the use of prized mushrooms. Each pairing was carefully crafted, perfectly showcasing flavors and textures. While it's difficult to describe each dish in detail, what remains memorable is the harmony of flavors, the refinement, and the overall pleasure of the experience. The price—€65 for the menu, plus €25 for the wine pairing—is absolutely appropriate for the quality of the offerings and the thoughtful ambiance. Riso Amaro is a restaurant I highly recommend to anyone in Fondi or the surrounding area. I would return without hesitation, even just to discover the upcoming seasonal menu. A well-deserved five stars.
