05/03/2026: I've cycled up this climb several times: beautiful, surrounded by greenery, and reaching the top where the only refuge and the Resistance Museum are located, though it's only open on Saturdays and Sundays. Unfortunately, I've witnessed firsthand on two occasions the questionable behavior of the man I later learned was the refuge's owner. The first time, I happened to pass a Panda going downhill at ridiculous speeds, putting me at risk and almost hitting the car that had just passed me. The car honked at him, fearing he'd hit me, I literally told him to go to hell, and everything seemed to be over. Instead, after more than half an hour, just before finishing the climb, I hear a car coming up behind me, it overtakes me and stops in front of me, a thug gets out and starts insulting and taunting me. I'm immediately shocked, then I notice that the car was a Panda, I reconnect everything and casually continue up, hoping the car won't follow me. Luckily, it doesn't. I reach the top and enjoy a well-deserved rest. The second time, some time later, I do the climb again and finish it without any problems. I reach the refuge and notice the gray Panda parked out front. I enter and am greeted by a lady. I ask for a cappuccino and some sweets to refuel, and if I could fill the cart afterwards. She agrees. I pay, leaving the change out of courtesy, go out and sit at the tables outside. Before leaving, however, I return and find a man sitting there (who I later learned is the owner of the refuge and presumably also of the Panda). I ask him if and where I can refill my water bottle. He rudely and condescendingly points me to the bathroom. I fill it from the tap, go out, and hear the guy in the kitchen complaining to the woman from before, who tells him, "Look, he drank and left me the rest." Basically, he was only angry because, as a cyclist, I had asked for tap water, thinking I hadn't had anything at the bar beforehand. Besides, whether I drank or not, it seems like civilized and humane behavior to give a thirsty Christian access to tap water! I don't understand the hatred so strongly held toward cyclists. I therefore absolutely advise cyclists not to go there, and if they do, they should refuel down in Revine-Lago.
