15/01/2025: Worst gas station attendant I've ever seen
19/08/2024: Let me start by saying that I left the same review at the POI next door called "Mcbotol white pumps", I don't know which of the two is right.... On 08/14/2024 at 4.48 pm I refueled with diesel for an amount of 37.86 € with a panda 1.3 multijet. The car left from Vicenza and had no problems. 10km after refueling, in Cencenighe, the engine stopped and never started again. A tow truck had to be called in to remove the car from the road and take it to the workshop. The checks gave no results, until Monday 19/8 it emerged from speaking with other mechanics in the area that some other cars had already turned off after a few km after refueling at the same service station, which moreover I was told had been notified of the problem to no avail. The car started again after emptying the tank, cleaning the injectors and putting in more diesel taken elsewhere. Far be it from me to claim that the fuel sold is of poor quality (I have refueled in the past with other means without problems), however this episode ruined my holiday, as I was only able to finish the journey via a taxi sent by my roadside assistance, and in the following days it was impossible for me to move around independently. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this service station.

Rifugio San Sebastiano

13/11/2024: Our group stayed at Refugio San Sebastiano on the seventh night of our trek on the AV1 in the Dolomites. It was another long and partially wet day; and the final, downhill leg was muddy & slippery. (Needless to say, we left our boots outside the front door, to clean up later). Inside we arrived to a warm, convivial greeting at the front bar, where the charming owner served us cocktails. (He spoke only Italian, but one person in our group did too - and those two hit it off quickly!).
Dinner was simple, but very good. The owner's wife was the cook; and we were asked to pick from a short list while we enjoyed our cocktails. After dinner, some of us chose to sit by the antique, central fireplace, which the owner kept on a slow but steady burn. (Sadly I did not take a photo). It was perfect with a nightcap and stories from the trail.
Rifugio San Sebastiano did not have the best location - It was on a road, with limited views of the surrounding mountains. But their hospitality really won us over.
We had two days left on the AV1, but sadly this would be the last Rifugio stay on our trek - our next two nights would be spent in a hotel in Belluno.
Rifugio Summary:
- Setting: On main road at a pass in the mountains (adjacent to another Rifugio)
- Rooms/dorms: Average. Somewhat spartan
- Food: Good
- Free Potable water: Yes
- Wi-fi: Good
16/08/2024: Ci siamo recati a pranzo presso il rifugio,con il nostro cane e ci è stato indicato da un addetto, inspiegabilmenre, di sedere in un angolo isolato lontano dagli altri tavoli.
Non abbiamo capito se questo atteggiamento discriminatorio riguardasse la presenza del cane o il nostro accento toscano.
Alla nostra richiesta di una spiegazione ci è stato risposto che se quel tavolo non era di nostro gradimento potevamo andarcene.
Precisiamo che sia noi che il cane siamo vaccinati e stamani abbiamo fatto regolarmente la doccia.
Consiglieremo al signore sopra citato di operare in un settore non a contatto con il pubblico, bensì con gli animali.
Sconsigliamo a bipedi e quadrupedi l'ingresso al locale

12/08/2024: Ci siamo fermati a bere qualcosa in attesa di guardare le stelle dal padso. Gestori simpatici, ambiente piacevole, ottima cioccolata.
