First time in Gressoney-Saint-Jean, fate led us to this special trattoria for a few days: "IL BRACIERE."
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with sincere and warm smiles that lasted throughout the entire meal.
For appetizers, we were delighted by a varied platter of local cheeses accompanied by a delicate jam.
For the first course: "Fresh pasta squares with sausage." The texture of the pasta, wrapped in a delicate sausage sauce, was astonishing. "The risotto...", whose name, alas, I don't remember, was a delicate and enveloping cream cheese velvet.
For the second course, an amazing "Mixed grill" of meats with bold flavors.
Finally, a superb "Panna cotta ai futti di bosco" and an exceptional "Tiramisu" concluded our gastronomic experience in the enchanting Gressoney-Saint-Jean valley with a truly sweet touch.

05/10/2025: Bad experience, the waiter was very kind but otherwise a big disappointment. Polenta without salt and reheated, cheese risotto and cheese platter of low quality, compared to the service and the food the price was exorbitant, we will definitely not return.

18/08/2025: Welcoming and spotlessly clean, friendly and helpful staff, everything was excellent, especially the desserts!! Reasonably priced, absolutely not to be missed.

05/10/2025: I've been to Nordkapp many times and I think it's the absolute best in all of Gressoney. The quality of the dishes is top-notch, and the wine list, both local and international, is excellent. The place is very welcoming; the wooden decor, the beautiful stove, and the photographs on the walls immerse you in a true Alpine experience. The manager who serves the tables has always been very courteous and helpful; we can't wait to return!
05/10/2025: I've been coming to Gressoney since I was a child, and since I've been working, I've treated myself to at least one dinner at Nordkapp every season. Undoubtedly the best restaurant in the valley, prices are a bit higher than average, but it's definitely worth it. Every dish is tasty, balanced, and perfect. See you this winter! 😊

08/09/2025: Recommended campsite, close to Castel Savoia and a 10-minute walk to the center.
The town is well served by public transportation.
We had a great time.

17/07/2025: The Residence is located in a prime, quiet location just outside the center of Gressoney Saint-Jean, which can be reached in about a 10-minute walk. In the opposite direction, the same distance takes you to the Savoy Castle. The property is furnished and finished with characteristic details; the apartments are spacious and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a dishwasher. There is a well-kept garden with loungers, a hot tub, a sauna, and a children's playground. Parking is right in front of the property. For dinner, try the cuisine, featuring typical valley dishes, served in the restaurant or in the comfort of your apartment.
Perfectly clean.
The staff is very courteous and helpful.
A must try!

10/11/2025: Small restaurant located on the main road leading to Gressoney la Trinité. Ample parking, simple menu with local specialties. I had an excellent braised beef with polenta concia. Fair price. Friendly and fast staff.

20/07/2025: Service catastrophique, un petit monsieur archi malpoli qui souhaitait absolument nous faire comprendre que nous n'étions pas les bienvenus.
Comme nous avions bien été reçu la première fois, nous sommes restés et avons mangé mais nous aurions dû fuir. Cuisine très correcte et bon rapport qualité prix. Service décevant, nous ne vous disons pas merci.
31/05/2025: Ordiniamo polenta e funghi porcini. Ci aspettiamo ci venga servito un piatto di polenta con dei funghi cotti nel loro sughetto, invece riceviamo una polenta precotta su cui è stata versata sopra una cucchiaiata di funghi sott'olio di infima qualità (olio denso e trasparente tipo lubrificante e funghi insipidi).
Un piatto completamente slegato che nulla ha a che vedere con la ricetta di polenta e funghi.
Vino sfuso da evitare.
Peccato perché il locale è bello, caratteristico e poco rumoroso.

16/02/2025: Ho ordinato 2 filetti al pepe verde al sangue. Sono arrivati 2 filetti microscopici stracotti. Scelte 2 bottiglie alla carta nessuna presente. Prezzi alti per qualità
03/02/2025: Ricordavo un locale gradevole e giusto. Oggi ho trovato un ristorante con scarsissima attenzione al cliente, e prezzi fuori dalle orbite per dei piatti del tutto normali. Assolutamente da evitare.

25/08/2024: Sono stata a pranzo e oltre alla ottima qualità/prezzo, ho apprezzato tantissimo l'aiuto e la gentilezza per l'assistenza per un problema di salute. Senza il loro aiuto non sarei riuscita tornare a valle. È davvero raro trovare tanta gentilezza.
