13/05/2025: What a wonderful evening and a fantastic restaurant. Outstanding dishes, lovingly prepared, that taste even better than they look. The appetizers are outstanding. The pasta is divine. Unfortunately, we couldn't manage a second course because we were already full. The desserts, especially the tiramisu, were a wonderful ending. The waiters are so pleasantly friendly and welcoming. We thank you for the English-speaking service and the relaxing time on our last evening in bella Puglia. You're doing a great job, please keep it up. ❤️🙏🏽

30/06/2025: Vecchia Otranto is a wonderful little restaurant tucked away in the quiet backstreets of Otranto – a true hidden gem that delivers on both charm and flavour. We began with a beautifully cooked starter that was fresh, flavorful, and elevated by the addition of fresh oregano, which added a lovely, aromatic brightness to the dish. It set the tone perfectly for what was to come. For mains, we had the sagne 'ncannulate with shrimp – a standout dish with homemade pasta and deep, authentic local flavors. We also tried the tagliolini with tuna, another pasta made in-house that was rich, light, and full of character. These were perfectly complemented by a local rosé made from the Negroamaro grape – crisp, dry, and just right with seafood and pasta. We ended with a classic tiramisu – creamy, balanced, and the perfect finale to a fantastic meal. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making the entire evening feel relaxed and welcoming. This is a place that takes pride in local ingredients, traditional recipes, and heartfelt hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Otranto who wants an authentic, delicious dining experience.

06/06/2025: Bellissima location con terrazza dove gustare un buon aperitivo o cena ,davanti ad un tramonto meraviglioso... Il castello è bellissimo ,personale molto gentile e disponibile per ogni esigenza noi abbiamo partecipato ad una serata di cineforum ben organizzata abbiamo preso un ottimo cocktail con dei buoni salati quindici euro a persone . Ci torneremo sicuramente

16/05/2025: Beautiful castle, at the entrance together with the ticket they give a guide to the visit done really well, with the explanation of the various rooms and a detailed description of the beautiful facade, one of a kind. You can also visit independently because along the route there are signs that provide explanations, and in any case the staff and guides are very available to provide further information. Furthermore inside the castle there are currently two exhibitions that are worth visiting: the photographic exhibition by Giuseppe Palumbo with the video interview with the photographer's daughter, who tells in a sweet and moving, but also fun way, the life of her father and his mission as a reporter. The other exhibition is about tarantulism, I don't know how to describe it, they are photographic and video reports with rare, if not unique, images of women bitten by the tarantula, the tarantolate precisely, of their manifestations and the rites to free them. Unmissable! At least for those like me who are looking for authentic testimonies of our lost traditions. Furthermore on the terrace of the castle there is a bar/restaurant with a wonderful view; unfortunately it was closed when I visited because it opens in the evening. If possible I will return at a different time to have an aperitif at sunset. I had the impression that the Castello volante association is doing an excellent job in keeping this splendid castle alive and accessible thanks to the numerous cultural initiatives hosted.

30/06/2025: It's nice to still find a genuine, good and traditional way of cooking even in places on the outskirts of tourism. You absolutely have to try it if you're in the area. Top appetizer, excellent spaghetti with mussels and clams and what about the cuttlefish? Amazing. Dessert? Finally a proper dessert. Congratulations.

05/07/2025: Actually, I would like to review the restaurant, not a hotel. The environment is characterized by a very intimate, elegant but at the same time welcoming atmosphere. The owner is an extremely kind person and attentive to his customers. The dishes we ate were presented to us in a very careful way and turned out to be extremely interesting both for the quality of the raw material used and for the combination of flavors. The bill was correct.. Recommended.

25/05/2025: Spesso si scrivono recensioni dettate da momenti di frustrazione personale o da qualche disappunto sul servizio o gusti poco graditi. Dovremmo sempre ricordare che in ogni caso e per ogni volta che si va a mangiare in un ristorante, c’è sempre qualcuno che suda per farci stare seduti a mangiare. Pizza buona e che invoglia ad essere consumata tutta. Sì sente che viene cotta nel forno a legna. Un appunto felice sarebbe da fare alla ragazza che ci ha servito, Veronica che con la sua simpatia ha fatto passare in secondo piano il fatto che la mia pizza sia arrivata con un bel po’ di ritardo rispetto agli altri commensali. Nonostante questo piccolo inconveniente, abbiamo trascorso una bella serata. Riguardo alla location, aggiusterei la seconda sala che rispetto alla prima sembra di essere in un altro posto. Il conto è giusto per quello che abbiamo ordinato.
