13/11/2025: 2012 WORLD CHAMPION LOCATION 👉 Pizzeria da Natale, open since 1992, is located in Tuscany, at Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini, 13, in the municipality of Aulla, in the province of Massa Carrara. 👉 It's a very well-known pizza by the slice, having been recommended to me by some Emilian friends visiting my hometown of Pisa. 🏆 In 2012, Pizzeria Natale was the World Champion in "pizza in teglia" at the world finals held in Salsomaggiore Terme. 👉 The pizza he created and led to victory was called "Mondiale" and was topped with parmesan cheese, cherry tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, and basil. According to the owners, it remains one of the most popular pizzas to this day. 👉 Therefore, I personally went to the municipality of Aulla to verify what I was told. 👉 The restaurant isn't large, but it's well-organized, both in the reception area and the work and food preparation area, with a small dining room with tables. 👉 There are no tables outside. 👉 The aroma is a sign of deliciousness as soon as you enter. 👉 The pizza is thick and soft, crispy on the sides, and the toppings aren't overdone. You can clearly taste the freshness of the ingredients used, as it's even good reheated in your home oven. 👉 Everything is made fresh, partly in view and placed on the counter. 👉 The cecina, as we Tuscans call it (or farinata, as they say in Liguria), is truly delicious: thin, crispy, and thin. 👉 As you can see from the menu, the selection is wide and you can also eat in. 👉 I recommend everyone in Aulla, and even the surrounding areas, to try this pizza. 👉 The pizzeria also has a very well-designed and interesting website. 👉 The prices are in line with the average, and the pizzas are large enough for two people.

28/09/2025: We stumbled upon this pizzeria by chance, but more by luck, coming from Rome. One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten in my life... the other four diners shared the same opinion, including the celiac, who was able to enjoy an excellent gluten-free pizza. Excellent dough, no digestive issues or bloating in the hours following, no need to drink in the middle of the night. The toppings were all fresh and top-quality, as was the presentation. The buffalo mozzarella was superb. Wide selection of pizzas, including gourmet ones. Excellent service and reasonable wait times, especially considering it was a Sunday evening. Welcoming atmosphere, modern decor, clean bathroom, pizza makers in full view, fair prices.
