26/12/2025: Update December 2025: We celebrated Christmas here with our family. Service was excellent, and the food was excellent. Three seafood appetizers (see photo) cost €60 (paccheri with cherry tomatoes, scampi, clams, and lupini beans), mixed fried fish with anchovies and fried vegetables, and panettone with cream, water, wine, and coffee. It was sold out. Update 2025: Everything is always great at La Casina! --- We're regulars at this restaurant, and I can say it's an extremely good restaurant, especially for the price. The dishes are good and plentiful, and there's no cover charge. I recommend the tagliolini with lobster, the seafood sauté, and the cacciucco (fish stew). Located in the Viareggio pine forest, 200 meters from the sea, it offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with air conditioning. During high season, it's better to reach it by bike than by car due to the lack of parking in the area (free parking nearby from 1-3 PM and after 8 PM). They often offer a free after-dinner drink at the end of the meal. - August 2023. This year too, we've been to the local restaurant a couple of times, always top-notch. The seafood is good and plentiful, and there's a fixed-price menu available (4 appetizers, 2 first courses, fried food, and water, plus wine). The staff is friendly and helpful, and there's a wide variety of "ammazza caffè" (afternoon tea) for those like me who don't get the usual "amaro del Capo" (a bitter liqueur). Don't be put off by anyone who complains about slow service. The staff is always busy, but when there's a lot of people, you might have to wait, but that means you'll eat well!
26/12/2025: Christmas lunch set menu. Everything was excellent, from appetizer to dessert. The staff were knowledgeable and extremely friendly, the service was prompt, and the place was spotless. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

14/09/2025: Conditionally. The pizzas were truly delicious and generously topped. The service was abysmal. We ordered takeout. They said it would take 20 minutes. In the end, it took 45 minutes (!!!). For me, pregnant and with a toddler (2), this was an absolute disgrace. I think they forgot our order. The endless wait and the fact that several guests who arrived after us were served before us unfortunately spoiled the experience for me.

09/12/2025: Today was the Avo Versilia New Year's Eve celebration. About 50 of us gathered for the New Year's Eve lunch.
Odilio is a well-known restaurant in Torre del Lago. The location is clean and not very bright, making it excellent for family lunches, business lunches, or groups of up to 60-70 people.
We enjoyed a well-prepared, traditionally prepared fish menu.
The prices were moderately low, and the staff was friendly. Everything was fine.
17/11/2025: We waited half an hour to order, and an hour to get our pizzas, since they gave priority to takeout orders! This is unprofessional! The pizza isn't as good as recommended...

We would like to thank you very much for the wonderful stay at your hotel. We particularly enjoyed the location directly by the sea and in the shopping area, which made for a relaxing holiday. The room was always clean, and the food in the hotel restaurant was very delicious.
We would especially like to praise the excellent service, from the manager himself to the entire team. We always felt well looked after and were provided with many useful tips for excursions in the surrounding area. The parking in front of the door at a fair price of €8 per day was also very convenient.
Overall, we were completely satisfied and are already looking forward to our next visit to the Hotel Playa. Thank you for the wonderful time and warm greetings from Germany!

A pleasant and traditional place.
24/12/2025: Pizzeria Athos, the pizzeria of my youth and ours.
Summer evenings with pizza and beer from the 70s and 80s, etc., up to today.
The pizza is good, obviously not the same flavor as 50 years ago, but it's pleasant and enjoyable.
The biggest aesthetic difference is the mozzarella, which in the 70s was cut into round pieces. Nowadays, as is common practice, it's ground and arranged more precisely on the pizza.
The only criticism is the price: €2.00 for a small piece; perhaps €1.50 would have been more than fair.
We're on the Passeggiata in Viareggio, so you can spend a little more without too much trouble.
