18/08/2024: We find ourselves visiting the beautiful town of Lucera, and decide to spend a night in the Hotel Villa Imperiale. The structure has an 80s style with rooms and architecture identical to those shown in the Shining film where (I swear) the iconic tricycle is parked inside. At the reception we are welcomed by two girls who, to put it mildly, exude happiness from every pore... The information they give us is vague and precise and we slowly manage to understand where our room is located. The 80s style room also appears poorly renovated, without connection, without bottles of water, with a soft light, and covered with strange flyers of ISO Certifications drawn up by unknown foreign independent bodies and not related to the Hotel/Tourism sector . Further down we also find announcements that warn us about the possibility of theft of towels in the room. Furthermore, a little terrified I read that the structure, by choice, is not registered on any tourist review platform, of the series: "No one will read your story of stay here..." Shocked, we try to relax by heading to the fabulous swimming pool advertised on their website, only discovering hours later that it has been out of use for four years now. Dejected, we return to our warm and "comfortable" room where the air conditioner installed inside emits a noise similar to that of American Apache helicopters, which keeps us from sleeping all night. Under the sheets, they dreamed of our return home and we prayed for a substantial breakfast, given that in this hotel there is a renowned and advertised gourmet restaurant...poor deluded people.... The next morning the "very good breakfast" presents itself with a single stale croissant and a coffee as black as coal, a yogurt with cereals and nothing else... we leave aware that we have certainly disrespected some otherworldly being, who , as punishment, arranged for us to stay in this structure where, as Edgar Allan Poe wrote "Nothing was human..."

18/08/2024: Ci troviamo a visitare la bellissima cittadina di Lucera, vicino Foggia, e decidiamo di passare una notte nell'Hotel Villa Imperiale. La struttura si presenta molto stile anni 80 con camere e architettura identiche a quelle riportate nel film di Shining dove, giuro, si trova al suo interno parcheggiato l'iconico triciclo. Alla reception ci accolgono due ragazze che per usare un aforisma, sprizzano felicità da tutti i pori... Le informazioni che ci danno sono vaghe e tirate con la pinza e riusciamo piano piano a capire dove si trova la nostra stanza. La stanza stile anch'essa anni 80 si presenta mai ristrutturata, senza connessione, senza bottiglie d’acqua, con una luce soffusa, e tappezzata da strani volantini di Certificazioni ISO redatti da Enti indipendenti esteri sconosciuti e non attinenti al settore Alberghiero/Turistico. Più in basso troviamo anche annunci che ci redarguiscono sulla possibilità di furto degli asciugamani (per la cronaca ne aveva solo 2) in stanza, dove i trasgressori saranno puniti severamente. Inoltre, un po' terrorizzato leggo che la struttura, per sua scelta, non si trova registrata in nessuna piattaforma di recensione turistica, della serie: “Nessuno leggerà la tua storia di soggiorno qui..." Sconvolto, proviamo a rilassarci un po’ dirigendoci nella favolosa piscina pubblicizzata nel loro sito, scoprendo solo ore dopo che è in disuso da ormai quattro anni. Abbattuti ritorniamo nella nostra calda e confortevole stanza dove il climatizzatore installato al suo interno emette un rumore simile a quello degli Elicotteri Apache Americani, il che non ci fa dormire per tutta la notte. Sotto le lenzuola, sognavano il nostro ritorno a casa e pregavano in una colazione sostanziosa, visto che in questo Hotel è presente un rinnovato e pubblicizzato ristorante gourmet ...poveri illusi…. La mattina dopo la "buonissima colazione" si presenta con un solo cornetto stantio e un solo caffè nero come il carbone, uno yogurt gusto ignoto e giuro e dico giuro nient'altro... ce ne andiamo consapevoli di aver sicuramente mancato di rispetto a qualche essere ultraterreno, che, come punizione, ha fatto in modo di farci alloggiare in questa struttura dove, come scriveva Edgar Allan Poe "Nulla aveva di umano..."
