25/10/2025: During our Iveco 50th anniversary visit to the Marazzato Foundation, located a half-hour drive away, we decided to stop for dinner, first because we'd already spotted it in the morning due to the ample parking, and second because it was on the Foundation's list of recommended places.
An old roadhouse, modernized with a gray paint job, which I don't think does it justice (I would have preferred it to keep its original colors), houses a restaurant on the ground floor and this osteria on the first floor.
There's an elevator, but you have to request use of it from the owners, so two flights of stairs lead to the osteria. The tables are set with fabric tablecloths, a rare find these days, but one I greatly appreciated.
The menu is based on Piedmontese and Vercelli dishes.
Carefully presented, well-portioned, balanced flavors.
The risottos are freshly cooked, with an open kitchen.
The gorgonzola risotto with hazelnuts and onions was very balanced and delicate, even if there had been a pot to clean...
The fillet on creamed potatoes, etc., medium rare, was incredibly tender and buttery.
I recommend booking because it's misleading to be in the middle of nowhere, but on a Saturday night the place is packed.

10/01/2025: Sulla statale 31 tra Vercelli e casale si trova l osteria dal Cantùne, mi sono fermato, su segnalazione di un amico .
L’osteria e’ Ubicata in una vecchia casa cantoniera l esterno non è invitante , però il parcheggio è pieno buon segno Al piano terra c è il bar al piano superiore si trova l osteria .
Consiglio il bar la signora è gentile e il caffè è buono e il banco dei salati interessante .
entrato in osteria ho aspettato un pochino prima che si decidessero a quale tavolo dovevo sedermi .
Sul menu del giorno la Panissa ( piatto tipico della zona ) non era in menu
e bisognava aspettare x averla …la milanese con le patate era finita (!?!?)
i famosi spaghettoni dell’osteria, Con la bagna cauda quel giorno nn era possibile ordinarli … mah .
Alla fine ho avuto la Panissa (altri commensali l hanno richiesta) e quindi è toccata anche a me .
Devo dire che era buona, pochina ma buona fatta veramente bene, il riso perfetto e la “cuoca “ giovane e gentile è venuta a chiedere se era buona e ci ha spiegato come viene fatta .
Sul secondo, una Bistecca di maiale lasciamo perdere senza infamia e senza lode .
Prezzi normali .
A mio parere Se si vuole provare la cucina vercellese consiglio di fare un salto a Vercelli .
Ultima annotazione il locale era pieno e nel parcheggio del locale tra camion furgoni e macchine non si entrava per
cui evidentemente piace .
