10/10/2025: Lovely food, attentive service and kind friendly staff. Pizza dough was very tasty and the home made tiramisu was a stand-out! Really delicious. We sat outside in the autumn sunshine and enjoyed the people-watching.
08/10/2025: Beautiful location on the promenade!
Pizza looks great! Unfortunately, the dough was tough and not quite crispy despite the wood-fired oven.
Tasted okay.
Small tables for four people; you can't put tables together.
Too bad, we'll consider a different restaurant next time.

03/10/2025: The restaurant is located a bit above the touristy restaurants, which are mostly located by the water. However, it's worth going a bit higher behind the church. In summer, you can sit in the lovely inner garden. It was already too cold for us to eat outside. A clear menu with regional specialties.
The pasta with porcini mushrooms is SUPER DELICIOUS for early autumn.
Don't miss the focaccia. It doesn't get any better!
The chestnut cream is also highly recommended for dessert. A wonderful taste experience.

16/11/2025: The mixed fried fish was very lightly salted, more salty than the seafood, greasy, and poorly stocked. I'm still digesting the pizza...
30/10/2025: The place and service aren't bad for a simple business lunch. We were really disappointed with the price; without being informed in advance that pizza wasn't part of the set menu, we paid €22 per person for a pizza, half a liter of wine, and a coffee.
In my opinion, this is truly excessive.

21/09/2025: A very nice restaurant with a view of the alpine dairy, and there are plenty of parking spaces directly in front. The menu offers everything from pasta to fish, meat, mussels, and vegetarian dishes.

27/10/2025: An Italian family business that could have come straight out of a commercial. Unobtrusive, human. We felt at home right away and—after trying several top-rated restaurants—went back to this one. It was simply the best (for us). The food was fantastic, the house wine delicious, and I'd come back more often for the espresso (€1.50 at your table). Speaking of prices: pizzas around €10 (large!), 1/4 liter of house wine €5 (or 3? It doesn't matter, it's good value). The only problem is that every other pizza I've had for a while has spoiled it. I've never had such a wafer-thin yet firm base, and the crust was airy and crispy.

Restaurant Lo Scalo

07/11/2025: We went for an aperitif at the
Lo Scalo restaurant. It had a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and was very clean. We sat inside, which was well-heated, and ordered the platter of cured meats and cheeses. The flavors were excellent, authentic, and of high quality. The fried gnocco was SUPERB!!!!
The seafood spaghetti was delicious, as were the fillet steak and the pizza. In short, everything was perfect.
The kindness of the waiter and the sweetness of the owner were unique on Lake Maggiore. We'll gladly return to be pampered again.
Highly recommended.

It's actually unimaginable that when we asked for antipasti, we were shown an empty plate at the next table as a sample...

07/10/2025: American fast food pizza, terrible quality. I don't understand how it got 4.4 stars!
The Ascoli olives were inedible, I took them and threw them all away!
A horrible experience, I would never tell anyone to eat there!
13/08/2025: Non-existent table service, they give you a remote control that rings to let you know that the "pizza" is ready so you can then get it yourself, the so-called pizza had a horrible dough, dry and not soft as it should be, the mozzarella most likely of low quality had no flavor, don't go there

05/04/2025: Bel locale, con ampio parcheggio anche se quando pieno un po' troppo rumoroso. Lo staff è gentile e veloce, il menù ampio con una buona scelta di pizze. La pizza è sottile e ben farcita. Il problema? Sarà forse una questione di gusti ma al mio tavolo tutti concordavano. Non so se è un problema dell' impasto o della cottura, ma la pizza è secca. Sembra quasi pane biscottato. È un peccato perché gli ingredienti usati sono ottimi
30/03/2025: Das Essen war sehr lecker. Wir hatten Pizza und Spaghetti mit Meeresfrüchten. Bin da immer sehr heikel aber Qualität war gut. Personal dürfte freundlicher sein, kaum ein Lachen bekommen. In der Küche wird in Trainerhosen gearbeitet, das findet man nur in Italien 🤭😅
Schöner Aussenbereich und innen auch sehr italienisch, nur sehr laut. Man darf hier nicht pingelig sein. War im Grossen und Ganzen aber in Ordnung, waren vorallem wegen dem Essen dort.

18/06/2025: Schöne gedeckte Pergola, gegen Strasse und Fluss. Genug Parkplätze. Mittagsmenü 2 Gänge, Pasta und Fleisch mit 1 Glas Wein 15 Euro! Gute und freundliche Bedienung. Gerne wieder
26/05/2025: Fabulosa comida en un bonito entorno en las afueras de Cannobio. El plato de pasta era muy especial, así como mi gran filete. Carta de vinos y menú de bebidas.
Lo que realmente hizo la diferencia fueron los propietarios que eran muy amables e incluso nos dieron un aventón de vuelta a nuestro hotel ya que estaba lloviendo.

06/04/2025: Attitude des serveurs irrespectueux, non chaleureuse et désagréable!
Après 1 heure d’attente nous avons reçu
notre plat dont le rapport qualité/prix n’est pas du tout juste!
Le patron était très désagréable, il a tourné des yeux tout le temps. Après avoir reçu des couteaux pour couper les pizzas, le patron les a enlevé sans commentaires.
Nous n’allons pas retourner dans ce restaurant.

01/05/2025: Un luogo tranquillo ma elegante, ordinato e silenzioso immerso nel verde di un fondo valle a pochi minuti da Cannobio.
Diciamo che la cucina eccelle per i raffinati sapori che lascia al palato veramente ben elaborati dagli chef.
Il vinello che ci hanno proposto è stato uno spettacolo, uno Schiava del Trentino, buono e fruttato.
Il prezzo vale quello che si mangia.
La qualità è sicuramente nei loro obiettivi per soddisfare il cliente.

Assolutamente da provare.
Pasta, gelato, pane ...fatti in casa.

24/04/2025: Gezellig en knus restaurant en heerlijk gegeten. Guiseppe was een zeer gezellige en lieve gastheer die het ons naar de zin wilde maken. Perfecte avond om de verjaardag van mijn moeder te vieren.
31/03/2025: Freundliche und schnelle Bedienung. Gute Pizzen und ansprechende Teigwaren-Gerichte. Wenn man in Eile ist und trotzdem gut essen möchte, der richtige Ort. Wir können das Ristorante AD nur empfehlen

04/10/2024: Ein grosses Plus ist die ganztags warme Küche! Grosse Auswahl, Qualität ansprechend.
Leider dauert der Service sehr lange…
25/08/2024: Leider eine absolute Katastrophe. Wir hatten Fischfilet und Entrecote bestellt.
Das Fischfilet war voller Gräten und in Soße ertränkt. Es schmeckte fade.
Das Entrecote wurde medium bestellt und kam roh! Nach der Reklamation wurde das Fleisch durchgebraten zurück an den Tisch gebracht.
Ein Steak Medium braten zu können, sollte zur Mindestanforderung eines Kochs gehören.
Aus unserer Sicht eine Touristenfalle mit schönem Ausblick auf der Lago Maggiore.
