10/02/2025: Siamo stati a cena in questo ristorante al termine di una splendida giornata sulla neve a Sestriere, in compagnia degli amici, e siamo rimasti davvero soddisfatti. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è eccezionale: piatti gustosi e abbondanti, preparati con ingredienti freschi e di qualità, il tutto a prezzi assolutamente onesti per la zona. Un’altra nota positiva è stata la cameriera, che ci ha accolti con un sorriso e si è mostrata molto disponibile e gentile, rendendo l’esperienza ancora più piacevole. Consigliamo vivamente di fermarsi qui per una pausa rilassante e soddisfacente, sicuramente ci torneremo!

10/02/2025: In English. Italian below. Italy is famous for its food, and less so for its service. This restaurant is the worst I have visited in 15 years of trips to italy. It should be avoided in preference even to starvation. The venue is tired, with a dull interior, descriptors that might be appliued also to the staff - who were rude when they made an appearance, which was infrequently. the service might, in fact, be the worst in Europe: the staff failed to serve food to every guest at the table, meaning two children had to wait almost half an hour for food while the others received theirs soon after arriving. When attempts were made to speak to serving staff, these were rejected - as were the attempts by Italian people at the table to engineer some small attention. Everyone was shocked - except for two people who had been before, and confirmed that the awful experience was typical of the venue's dreadful reputation. As for the food, this was variably tasteless, oversalted and cold - when meant to be hot. When my host attempted to speak to the manager, he attacked us for having dared to complain. The film Withnail and I contains the wonderful line, "we went on holiday by mistake." I would adopt this line for the wording "we went to lunch by mistake." This was a horrible dining experience made tragic by the worst, most rude and ignorant service on this side of the Alps. If this is the only venue available, better to walk naked in winter across the mountains to France. L’Italia è famosa per il suo cibo e meno per il suo servizio. Questo ristorante è il peggiore che abbia mai visitato in 15 anni di viaggi in Italia. Dovrebbe essere evitato di preferenza anche rispetto alla fame. Il locale è stanco, con interni noiosi, descrittori che potrebbero essere applicati anche al personale, che era scortese quando faceva la sua comparsa, il che accadeva raramente. il servizio potrebbe, infatti, essere il peggiore in Europa: il personale non è riuscito a servire il cibo a tutti gli ospiti al tavolo, il che significa che due bambini hanno dovuto aspettare quasi mezz'ora per il cibo mentre gli altri lo hanno ricevuto subito dopo essere arrivati. I tentativi di parlare con il personale di servizio sono stati respinti, così come i tentativi degli italiani seduti a tavola di attirare qualche piccola attenzione. Tutti sono rimasti scioccati, tranne due persone che c'erano già state, e hanno confermato che la terribile esperienza era tipica della pessima reputazione del locale. Per quanto riguarda il cibo, era variamente insapore, troppo salato e freddo, quando doveva essere caldo. Quando il mio ospite ha tentato di parlare con il direttore, ci ha attaccato per aver osato lamentarci. Il film Withnail ed io contiene la frase meravigliosa: "siamo andati in vacanza per sbaglio". Adotterei questa frase per la frase "siamo andati a pranzo per sbaglio". Questa è stata un'esperienza culinaria orribile resa tragica dal servizio peggiore, più scortese e ignorante da questo lato delle Alpi. Se questo è l'unico luogo disponibile, meglio camminare nudi in inverno attraverso le montagne fino alla Francia.

19/01/2025: We found ourselves in this restaurant for the second time after almost 25 years. The memory was excellent, and today's experience reconfirmed it! We were pleasantly impressed by the paella and the starters, but perhaps even more so by the service. The girl who welcomed us was kind and helpful throughout the lunch, advising us and satisfying all our requests with a smile. The attention to service and the quality of the dishes will definitely make us return!

05/01/2025: A stone's throw from Susa, Gravere hosts Chica Espana. Nice place with genuine food, we took the mixed meat and fish paella (I wasn't able to take a photo because of its inviting aroma, it was devoured). Amazing desserts. Cozy place and very precise and kind service
