04/05/2026: Everything was excellent, starting with the owners' welcome. The food was exceptional: we ordered a fried fish and a baked sea bream. The fish was incredibly fresh and lightly cooked. Homemade desserts: we ordered the lemon delight. In the evening, we tried the takeout pizzas, including some with unique flavors like zucchini cream, fried meatballs, and provola cheese. Highly recommended.

12/06/2026: I was very disappointed with my experience here on May 30th. I was surprised to find that, of all the restaurants I've visited in Italy, I was charged a "service charge" (15%) *in addition* to the cover charge. I found no indication of this surcharge on the menu or the website. It's illegal. Why do they do it? Furthermore, the fish of the day was exorbitantly priced, and we were only served half a portion, with the rest taken away. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is friendly, but ultimately unhelpful in the areas that really matter. Don't be fooled: there are better options nearby.

An impressive menu, exceptional quality, and carefully crafted, unique dishes that showcase the flavors of the fish and other ingredients. Excellent combinations, even the desserts, with a new, revisited Caprese. Your palate will thank you. You feel pampered...you don't just go to a restaurant, but to a vibrant experience.

14/06/2026: I had a negative experience here. I ordered a margherita and it was served BURNED. The crust was BLACK all around, and the mozzarella was overcooked in the middle, to the point it tasted like parmesan cheese. I asked our waitress if I could have it redone. A few minutes later, what seemed to be the manager (or owner) came to our table and asked me what was wrong with the pizza. I explained (again) that the crust was burned. He immediately got defensive, lost his temper and yelled at me that I should have told the waitress in advance if I wanted a "medium-rare" pizza, then continued his rant about how they can't redo a pizza every time there is a complaint etc. He embarassed me in front of all 10 guests that were sitting at my table. I did not argue back because that dinner was an important occasion, but on a different day, I would have raised hell for such a treatment! I will not be going back, and I recommend you look elsewhere for pizza, since burned seems to be the standard here.

13/06/2026: One of the nicest and best restaurants right on the harbor in Forio. The pizzas are delicious, and the salad is also highly recommended. The staff is very attentive and friendly.

03/06/2026: It's a shame the opening hours listed here are incorrect. We walked for over 30 minutes on a Wednesday at 9 pm, only to find it closed. Up-to-date opening hours on Google would have been helpful, as we specifically checked beforehand. At least it was a nice walk.

17/05/2026: We stopped briefly today for a bite to eat before continuing our journey. The grilled sardines were very good, and the house white wine was delicious. We also wanted to try the Ruccolino liqueur and received a very friendly recommendation for it and two other Ischian specialties. They even brought one extra for my wife, free of charge, just to try. The attentive and friendly service was exceptional. Mille Grazie! 👍

01/06/2026: We visited the restaurant twice. The service was perfect, the food fantastic, and the selection excellent. It was the best meal we've had in Italy in recent years. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy fine Italian cuisine. Reservations are strongly advised!

12/06/2026: I recently discovered this wonderful restaurant in Foriano. We ate there for lunch and were treated wonderfully by Francesco, who was extremely helpful and attentive. The view is stunning, encompassing the western part of the island. The food was delicious, as per tradition, with all local ingredients.

03/06/2026: We were in Ischia over the June 2nd long weekend, and after several disappointing lunch and dinner experiences at other restaurants, we stumbled upon La Ruota, where we had an excellent experience: the welcome, friendliness, quality, service, and variety of dishes... what more can I say? Lunch at La Ruota was a complete surprise. We ate wonderfully and were pampered by Marcella, who delighted us. The zucchini and mussels specialties are a must-try, a superb combination of ingredients and quality.

27/01/2026: Pleasantly surprised by the coffee with my feet in the water for €1.50! The prices of the dishes are also very reasonable for planning an afternoon at the beach in a small cove of blue water including a hot spring.

10/10/2025: Sorgeto a wonderful bay, the restaurant has few dishes but the service is fast and the staff are kind, excellent bruschetta and I ate a very good plate of octopus gnocchi.

22/09/2025: A true pearl of Ischia! At Trattoria da Peppina di Renato we finally felt we had found the real Italy. The atmosphere was a feast for the senses: authentic, steeped in history and tradition, with every detail in the décor arranged with taste and passion. Francesco, with his stories, guided us not only through the dishes but also through the soul of the island: its soil, its wines, and the deep roots of its cuisine. It felt as though we had been welcomed into the living memory of a family. The grandmother’s meatballs with pine nuts, in their rich tomato sauce, captured me from the very first bite. I truly felt as if they had been prepared by a nonna herself, with that love and patience only a grandmother can give. I can say, without exaggeration, that I had never tasted anything so delicious, so tender, so perfectly balanced. Then came the pasta with rabbit sauce and herbs. Wonderful! Followed by the traditional Ischian rabbit dish, which I had longed to try since arriving on the island. It was intensely aromatic, served with real, rustic fried potatoes. And yes, we followed Francesco’s advice: we even did "la scarpetta"!!! Dipping bread into the rabbit sauce was a revelation. We paired the meal with a local Biancolella, produced just a few houses up the hill: fresh, crisp, and mineral, with that volcanic rock note that gives Ischia its name as the "green island". The evening ended with two special digestifs. One was made of arugula, unique and vibrant, and the other was Piperna, a true spirit of the island. A must try! This was not just dinner, but a journey into tradition, authenticity, and warmth. Thank you from the heart for an unforgettable evening. We will carry this inspiration back to our own little Italian restaurant in Germany, and we hope to return soon, at least once more, to relive this magic.

12/09/2025: Wonderful evening. Professional and very helpful staff. Excellent food quality and absolutely reasonable prices. What more can I say... the tradition and history of Ischian cuisine with expertly combined reinterpretations. The place is beautiful and exudes joy with a hint of nostalgia... all accompanied by the greatest voice and guitar on the island of Ischia. Well done guys (did you give your lighter back?)
