06/07/2025: I had such a wonderful meal here. A family owned restaurant with the parents cooking and the son as a very knowledgeable wine enthusiast. The main dishes felt like homemade Italian dishes, and the flavor was as good as any 5-star restaurant. The chocolate cake was to die for as well — highly recommend.
06/07/2025: A place that tastes genuine and ancient, with a wide choice of wines, good food too even if dishes like rice with perch are certainly defrosted. Unique and different from the other crowded places in Bellano.

01/07/2025: Very hard to bite bread served with quite below average plates, last resort restaurant in the Varenna area in my view.
17/06/2025: I was looking for the phone number to go back and I realized I hadn't reviewed it... quickly done: convenient parking at off-peak times and periods, but a walk is also good for appetite and digestion. Neat location and attentive service never pushy. Food (sciat, cured meats, risotto with perch) well executed and with a very balanced flavor. Really good.

15/06/2025: I want to write a review that goes beyond the food and the location. Today we went with friends to eat at this restaurant and unfortunately a friend of mine fell near the restaurant, spraining her ankle and getting some grazes. Due to the pain she also had a small illness. We asked for help and immediately ALL the waiters and waitresses took action with ice, sugar, dressings, the blood pressure machine and so on and so forth! Unique kindness and helpfulness!!! I publicly thank you for everything! Congratulations indeed🙏Finally we sat down and ate the specialties of the Crotto! Everything was delicious. But the sweets with bresaola are out of this world as well as the ice cream with strawberries. The breathtaking view! Take a look, it's really worth it! Thanks guys 🥰
01/06/2025: I have been going to this restaurant for many years and over time I have noticed a decrease in quality (in the face of an increase in prices). I chose a chiscio as an appetizer, taken many other times and always good, but this time it was inedible, the dough was raw and the cheese did not arrive. The lasagnetta al sapori di lago, in addition to having the size of an appetizer and not a first course, despite the name was devoid of any flavor except that of the bechamel. The ice cream with berries was good. I have always loved this location, but this time I don't know if I will return.

18/06/2025: Bar in the center of town, with a beautiful view of the lake. Average food and cocktails.
The service leaves much to be desired, however.
The waiter tipped the tray for us, and shortly after did the same thing to another table. Little professionalism and I would also say poor communication with the public.

29/06/2025: Food tasted great, quantity was great.
Service radiated fun but not really.
At one point I was sitting in the sun, I asked the waiter to lower the sunshade but no, the gentleman didn't feel like it, the sun only lasted 5 minutes. But anyway, after 20 minutes I had to move to be able to eat a bit out of the sun.
27/06/2025: Every time we are in Bellano, even passing through, it becomes an almost obligatory stop. Excellent cuisine, my father is in love with your pizzoccheri. See you soon.

18/06/2025: Excellent staff. Amazing location and great service. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable after a very late check in. Will surely visit again. Gracie Stefano and Angelo. The lady at the restaurant was also amazing, apologies I do not remember her name.

16/07/2025: We were able to secure a seat right by the lake. Great view, wonderful food, and very friendly service.
Salads, mussels, seafood, and dessert were all fresh and delicious.
It was easy to get a table during the week and at lunchtime, but reservations are recommended during peak season or on weekends.

18/05/2025: sul filo dei romanzi bellanesi di Andrea Vitali inun locale con le atmosfere degli anni '30/50.
Ahimè solo le atmosfere letterarie si salvano.
per il resto cibo mediocre, servizio con lacune e prezzi elevati.
08/05/2025: Il locale in sé è internamente molto semplice ma elegante, mentre esternamente sono presenti alcuni tavoli vista lago, che permettono di consumare la cena in compagnia di una magnifica visuale.
Il menù è abbastanza vario, anche se sono presenti pochissime opzioni “del territorio”.
I piatti serviti sono risultati buoni (anche se scarni nelle porzioni), tranne il fritto di lago, che è stata una vera delusione, considerando anche il costo.
Il personale a mio avviso è stata la parte peggiore (che mi ha fatto decidere di dare un voto più basso di 3 su 5) frettoloso, poco attento e talvolta scorbutico (un esempio: alla richiesta di un calice per il vino, non è stata neanche data una risposta ma solo un cenno con la mano, come se non fosse una richiesta importante).
Mi spiace però per me è fondamentale che il personale sia gentile e disponibile con i clienti, magari abbiamo scelto la serata sbagliata in cui cenare presso questo ristorante.

23/03/2025: Un pranzo tradizionale: risotto al pesce persico. Dessert: crema catalana e profiteroles
Ristorante storico e tradizionale. Eravamo in zona e ci siamo tornati appositamente(dopo un paio di anni circa).
La scorsa volta essendo tarda primavera - estate eravamo all’esterno; oggi causa pioggerellina di stagione ci siamo accomodati all’interno dove si respira la classica aria di ristorante a conduzione familiare, dove il sorriso non manca mai!
Piatti corposi- servizio ottimo- prezzi assolutamente concorrenziali!
Se siete a Bellano fermatevi in questo ristorante!
15/02/2025: Un sabato qualsiasi, in coppia con la mia amata, entriamo e scopriamo un ambiente accogliente e famigliare. Il menù di pochi piatti tipici, semplici e con ingredienti locali, cucinati davvero bene...ci siamo innamorati di un locale che ci ha sorpreso e nel quale torneremo

31/07/2024: The best thing about this hotel was the colored toilet paper! We were tired and quickly looked for a hotel in the evening. The bed was clean. Otherwise everything is dingy and absolutely no value for money. The breakfast was more than bad. The boss and his daughter were unfriendly. Because there was cleaning, we were escorted out of the restaurant at 9:30, even though breakfast runs until 10. SO REALLY A NO GO HOTEL. The WORST AND MOST FRIENDLY HOTEL we had on our 4 week tour of all of Italy.
02/06/2024: Uneatable pizza, rude staff, dirty bathroom and in the end an exaggerated 2.50 cover charge for terrible service!
