06/01/2026: Dinner for two on a Monday evening, the place was almost full. Reservations are recommended weeks in advance, especially for lunch. The atmosphere is small, but very warm and welcoming. Service is prompt and informal. Various menus are available, ranging from €25 to €49; the full menu is for true gourmets. The food overall is good to very good, with more than generous portions, with special mention for the polenta and roast beef.
03/01/2026: We have been to the ranch several times...and we have always had a good time...but not this time....There were 13 of us for lunch....each one chose their favorite type of menu....but they brought dishes that were not enough based on the menus....in addition, a plate of gnocchi with wild boar ragù cost 20 euros....that's not a small amount....This time we didn't have a good time.

02/01/2026: Lunch for two during the week, the place was about half full. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, and the hosts are very kind. The gnocchi are a must, and the desserts were also quite good.
02/01/2026: We had a great time. The food was good and authentic. I'm not giving it 5 stars because you can't serve a 7-euro carrot cake that's stale and days old. My daughter ate it anyway, but it was really stale 😥. Other than that, the rest was good (not exactly cheap, like in Milan, but that's fine). Thanks for the evening.

25/01/2026: Super positive experience: excellent dishes, everything delicious, from start to finish! Excellent service and very friendly staff. Highly recommended. 😋
04/01/2026: A great spot for a quick lunch before continuing on to Balcone d'Italia (about another 2-3 minutes by car), with convenient and ample outdoor parking.
The menu is typical mountain fare with some Valtellina influences. The restaurant is all wood and quaint, with beautiful windows. The dishes are well-portioned and generally well-balanced (we weren't crazy about the pizzoccheri, though, nor the pear and chocolate cake).
The welcome and treatment of some of the wait staff (I'm especially referring to the lady with very short hair) definitely need improvement. She was completely indifferent to helping us open the front door despite seeing us with a stroller, and was too hasty both in seating us and taking our order (just to ask for a drink, between one word and another she left the table, leaving us alone without being able to complete our order, so much so that we had to turn to another colleague of hers 😅).
Prices are definitely fair.

07/12/2025: I can't rate the restaurant because it was closed. The place is beautiful from the outside. I passed by on one of my bike rides after a good snowfall. The landscape is surreal and wonderful. At Sighignola there is also a ski lift which, in the months with good snowfall, is also great for having fun with the kids, skiing and private lessons. Highly recommended, but not very big.
21/11/2025: We arrived at noon after visiting the Balcony of Italy, three minutes up the road.
Beautiful location, just what you'd expect from a mountain hut: plenty of parking and plenty of seating. A warm welcome and simple, polite, and attentive service. I've seen better photos of the dishes I was served. The fried porcini mushrooms weren't great in my case, but still good and not overly greasy. Pizzoccheri were amazing, truly expertly made. The pappardelle with wild boar ragù was a little less so... the pasta was very well cooked, but the ragù was a little bland and lacking, especially compared to some photos I've seen in other reviews. A quart of red wine on tap was good, along with water, coffee, and a shared tiramisu. The cream was very good, and the ladyfingers were barely soaked in the coffee, much to my wife's delight, but not so much mine 😁 All for €46. The price of the individual dishes is a bit high in my opinion, but they're the only ones there, so I'd say they were fair compared to what they could have done.
Next time we'll definitely make sure to visit the Balcony of Italy again around noon 😋

"Rondanino" Ristorante Hotel

11/12/2025: We booked a double room only to find ourselves in a cramped, tiny room with two hideous single beds. The bedside table? A plastic stool. The worst part was the bathroom, with no shower!!! A pine cone in the floor and a faucet sticking out of the wall. Disgraceful, shameful. The owner truly has no sense of shame. The entire place is incredibly old, freezing, and dark. I'm shocked by those who left positive reviews.
After complaints, we were moved to another room, equally hideous and dirty, covered in dust EVERYWHERE, with old, dirty, and torn blankets and sheets.
We had to eat something there for dinner and ended up with two pathetic, cold plates, priced at €15 each for four pieces of cheese and two slices of bresaola.

Although the person who answered the phone, who I assume is the owner, fully understood it was a DOUBLE room for a husband and wife, she decided to assign them a room with two tiny single beds and an embarrassing "bathroom" with no shower other than a faucet and a pine cone on the floor. After complaining, they deigned to change their room for an equally embarrassing room with at least a double bed. I have never felt so uncomfortable towards those who have had to stay in this ridiculous establishment, run by total profiteers.

01/11/2025: On our way back from visiting Balcone d'Italia, we stopped in for coffee and dessert. The service was excellent, too. The place is small but cozy.
18/10/2025: Café with very friendly service, who also speak German.
Very nice ambiance outside on the small village square. Fortunately in summer, but unfortunately in autumn, the lovely seating is in the shade.
This was our second time here and we'd love to come back.

03/08/2025: I wanted to make a reservation for lunch today. My phone was dead. I booked elsewhere.
I stopped by the restaurant anyway to see if the phone problem was temporary or to possibly get a new contact for a future reservation.
I was treated very rudely by the lady setting up the tables outside, despite my extreme kindness in asking
for explanations.
Good manners, in this circumstance, were completely lacking.
Luckily, the valley is full of businesses where you're greeted with a smile.
If the phone stays off, it really won't be a problem for me.

01/05/2025: Posto molto carino e roosbeef da urlo peccato il costo dell acqua a livello di Montecarlo…. 3.50 abbasserei questo costo…e il coperto inesistente una tovaglietta il cibo molto buono ma caro
30/04/2025: Ho soggiornato due giorni con mia figlia in questa struttura e cenato nel ristorante interno. La camera assegnata era ampia (in realtà era una tripla), con bagno molto stretto ma fornito di tutto il necessario. C'è stato un problema con il riscaldamento, che non partiva, ma è stato prontamente risolto. Il ristorante è effettivamente un po' caro ma la carne è stata eccezionale. Io non mangio molto spesso la carne ma la tartare era davvero speciale, così come il cheeseburger fatto in casa con carne e verdura fresca, le bruschette, il roastbeef e le verdire grigliate.
Peccato solo per il brutto tempo che ci ha impedito di godere della vista che abbiamo solo intuito

Buonissimi tutti gli altri piatti, le tagliatelle di farina di castagna porcini e granella di nocciole sono un tripudio per il palato, buona la carta dei vini.
Servizio veloce e camerieri educati.

19/08/2024: Very beautiful and good hotel.
The hotel is located in an exceptional location with
a panoramic view of Lake Lugabo and the surrounding area.
If you are in the region you absolutely have to take a little detour to pass by this magnificent place.
