21/03/2026: Intimate and rustic atmosphere. I recommend booking in advance because it's not huge. Set menus start at €25, meat-based (I don't know if there are vegetarian options). Generous portions. Excellent value.

18/02/2026: A welcoming place, but it's a shame I only ordered takeout pizzas and didn't get to try their food. The service was friendly and impeccable; the guy who took the delivery and served me the pizzas was very friendly and courteous. The quality of the pizzas was good; I couldn't fault the taste or ingredients. The only downside was the size of the pizza itself, which was really small. Otherwise, I can highly recommend it.

04/01/2026: A great spot for a quick lunch before continuing on to Balcone d'Italia (about another 2-3 minutes by car), with convenient and ample outdoor parking.
The menu is typical mountain fare with some Valtellina influences. The restaurant is all wood and quaint, with beautiful windows. The dishes are well-portioned and generally well-balanced (we weren't crazy about the pizzoccheri, though, nor the pear and chocolate cake).
The welcome and treatment of some of the wait staff (I'm especially referring to the lady with very short hair) definitely need improvement. She was completely indifferent to helping us open the front door despite seeing us with a stroller, and was too hasty both in seating us and taking our order (just to ask for a drink, between one word and another she left the table, leaving us alone without being able to complete our order, so much so that we had to turn to another colleague of hers 😅).
Prices are definitely fair.

09/02/2026: Despite the food being good and the location being pleasant, I find it absurd that in 2026, restaurants still have signs—both inside and out—forbidding customers from paying separately. Added to this, when it came to the bill, the cashier was unprofessional and rude, making a fuss and even commenting on the request to pay by card, even going so far as to specify a maximum number of transactions allowed… It's a shame, because it would take very little to offer a better experience.

01/11/2025: On our way back from visiting Balcone d'Italia, we stopped in for coffee and dessert. The service was excellent, too. The place is small but cozy.
18/10/2025: Café with very friendly service, who also speak German.
Very nice ambiance outside on the small village square. Fortunately in summer, but unfortunately in autumn, the lovely seating is in the shade.
This was our second time here and we'd love to come back.

"Rondanino" Ristorante Hotel

11/12/2025: Simply disgraceful rooms. I booked a double room for my parents who needed to stay overnight before undergoing surgery at the nearby orthopedic hospital. Although the person who answered the phone, who I assume is the owner, fully understood it was a DOUBLE room for a husband and wife, she decided to assign them a room with two tiny single beds and an embarrassing "bathroom" with no shower other than a faucet and a pine cone on the floor. After complaining, they deigned to change their room for an equally embarrassing room with at least a double bed. I have never felt so uncomfortable towards those who have had to stay in this ridiculous establishment, run by total profiteers.

A pine cone in the floor and a faucet sticking out of the wall. Disgraceful, shameful. The owner truly has no sense of shame. The entire place is incredibly old, freezing, and dark. I'm shocked by those who left positive reviews.
After complaints, we were moved to another room, equally hideous and dirty, covered in dust EVERYWHERE, with old, dirty, and torn blankets and sheets.
We had to eat something there for dinner and ended up with two pathetic, cold plates, priced at €15 each for four pieces of cheese and two slices of bresaola.

03/08/2025: I wanted to make a reservation for lunch today. My phone was dead. I booked elsewhere.
I stopped by the restaurant anyway to see if the phone problem was temporary or to possibly get a new contact for a future reservation.
I was treated very rudely by the lady setting up the tables outside, despite my extreme kindness in asking
for explanations.
Good manners, in this circumstance, were completely lacking.
Luckily, the valley is full of businesses where you're greeted with a smile.
If the phone stays off, it really won't be a problem for me.

30/04/2025: Ho soggiornato due giorni con mia figlia in questa struttura e cenato nel ristorante interno. La camera assegnata era ampia (in realtà era una tripla), con bagno molto stretto ma fornito di tutto il necessario. C'è stato un problema con il riscaldamento, che non partiva, ma è stato prontamente risolto. Il ristorante è effettivamente un po' caro ma la carne è stata eccezionale. Io non mangio molto spesso la carne ma la tartare era davvero speciale, così come il cheeseburger fatto in casa con carne e verdura fresca, le bruschette, il roastbeef e le verdire grigliate.
Peccato solo per il brutto tempo che ci ha impedito di godere della vista che abbiamo solo intuito

19/08/2024: Very beautiful and good hotel.
The hotel is located in an exceptional location with
a panoramic view of Lake Lugabo and the surrounding area.
If you are in the region you absolutely have to take a little detour to pass by this magnificent place.
