24/08/2025: I had a great experience at this restaurant!
The food is exquisite: tasty and beautifully presented. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the passion in the kitchen.
Another strong point is definitely the staff: young, friendly, helpful, and always smiling. They make you feel welcomed and pampered from start to finish, creating a warm and pleasant atmosphere.
A place I absolutely recommend to anyone who wants to eat well and experience a special moment! I will definitely be back.
20/08/2025: I dined here on Wednesday evening with my wife and two teenage children. The restaurant enjoys a splendid sea view and the location is truly evocative. Unfortunately, however, the experience didn't live up to expectations.
From the moment we arrived, we felt a somewhat cold welcome, and the service was slow: about ten minutes to receive the menus and another fifteen to place our order. Even our request for a wine recommendation wasn't handled with the helpfulness one would expect in a restaurant of this caliber.
The dishes in the kitchen were mixed: the mussels with pepper sauce, the ravioli with ragù, and the Chianina beef burger were all very good, while the panciotti were truly excellent. The calamarata was less successful, served with a "cream" that was too runny, and the dessert was unconvincing, presented as cheesecake but far from the classic versions. I fully understand that it's your reinterpretation... but believe me... I'm the chef of a fairly important restaurant.
The bill, €140 for four people, is average, but isn't fully justified by the service received. My real disappointment is that my children felt treated differently than other guests, something that should never happen on a holiday evening. With more attention to hospitality and a few tweaks to the dishes, the restaurant could truly make the most of its splendid location.
Because even though the evening wasn't perfect, I remain convinced that with more attention to the customer, regardless of dress or other considerations, this restaurant could offer unforgettable experiences.

I went there twice, once in the pouring rain where I first enjoyed the hospitality and the Trofie al Pesto. Honest work, wonderful taste.
Well-fortified, I was able to walk back to our accommodation through the rain.
In the evening, we returned as a family, and I ordered Trofie al Pesto again. This time, we had Foccacia al Formaggio for the second course – a feast.
People, go there, even if the terrace is empty; you will be welcomed with hospitality.

Having to chase waiters and repeat your order multiple times to get a drink is out of the question.
25/07/2025: Returning to Lo Scalo restaurant and pizzeria in Pieve Ligure is always a pleasure for many reasons, including the deliciousness of the dishes, all Sicilian specialties. My favorites? Arancino with eggplant parmigiana, the unparalleled swordfish rolls Messina-style, and the cassata. The wine list is also well-curated.
A family-friendly atmosphere, thanks in particular to Chef Andrea and his daughter Francesca.
The pizza section is also exquisite, featuring Matteo, a national award-winning pizza chef! I recommend the vertical pizza, one of their delicious "pizza rounds."

24/06/2025: Already a customer with reasonable satisfaction, I order ten pizzas for a dinner in Sori with friends, calling at 6:05 pm (they don't accept orders before that time) in the belief that by ordering early, the quality and service won't change and that their work will actually be made easier (silly me). When asked "what time is the delivery?" I answer 8:30 pm. At 8:35 pm the pizzas arrive. Inedible! Simply because they were obviously cooked well in advance (to get rid of work during rush hour?) and then reheated at the time of delivery. Ten very hard cardboard boxes with dry filling and coarse cold cuts. One of them was also mostly burnt. All the guests left it on their plate. Never go to them again! It's a shame because even though they're not an excellent place, they're one of the few in the area that do home delivery. The delivery guys are always kind and helpful.

21/06/2025: Excellent takeaway pizza! The dough is really good: light, well leavened and digestible. The pizzas always arrive hot, which is not a given. Fresh and abundant ingredients, good choice on the menu, even for those looking for something different from the usual pizzas. Recommended both for a quick dinner and for evenings with friends.
