19/12/2025: €65 per person (30 people) to be treated with condescension and arrogance
We were looking forward to a pleasant day dedicated to local flavors at Su Carduleo in Abbasanta, but we were greeted by sloppy
organization and, even worse, unbelievable arrogance from the kitchen.
The menu was promising, but the actual service was disappointing. Appetizers were served in miserable communal bowls, without plates or cutlery,
turning the tasting into a hygienic mess. When we pointed out that four of us were literally missing meatballs,
the response was a shrug: "If someone asked for seconds, it's not our problem." At €65 per person, we at least expected food
to be delivered to everyone.
But the climax came with the intervention of the owner and chef, Roberto Serra. Instead of apologizing or making amends, faced with a simple observation, he asked me
to leave. A chef who chases away customers because they ask to taste what they paid for is unacceptable.
The final straw was hearing his statement, addressed to the entire group: "I'm giving you too much for what you're paying."
This isn't professionalism; it's an insult.
The rest didn't make up for the situation: meatballs served later and cold inside, cured meats and vegetables in minimal portions (one slice per person,
a few small bowls for 30 people), a suckling pig whose meager portion belied the promise, a dessert of questionable flavor.
One ray of courtesy: the waiter, who maintained a commendable smile and helpfulness despite the tense atmosphere created by his superiors.
In conclusion: this isn't just about small portions or service details. It's about a contemptuous attitude toward customers,
who, paying an unpopular price (€65), were told it was already "too much." This lack of respect is worth more than any Gambero Rosso recommendation.
Recommended only for those who, in addition to veal mince, also enjoy a good dose of humiliation.
16/12/2025: An experience not to be repeated, the quality/price ratio was absolutely inadequate. The company lunch with a very poor and minimal menu was further enhanced by the inappropriate intervention of the owner/chef, who rudely and arrogantly argued with a guest at our table over a completely legitimate comment, shared by all the diners, regarding the small quantity of food served for the agreed price.
