11/08/2024: Fantastic dinner - well worth the short walk from the centre. The menu has plenty of options with regional specialties including four types of cappellacci di zucca, the Ferrara pasta hats stuffed with pumpkin. We had them with duck ragu and slices of fresh truffle - it was to die for. We also enjoyed tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, an aubergine, tomato and basil starter and a tagliata of beef with rocket and grana that was fantastic. We finished off with a very nice pistachio semifreddo and washed the lot down with their very drinkable house wine which is served by the glass or in carafes. Service was good especially the warm welcome from the chef who took time to explain the dishes to us. We really enjoyed the meal and will definitely be back next time we are in Ferrara.

01/10/2024: Buona carne alla brace e bel posto. Pulizia e servizio molto buono. Solo un appunto. Le porzioni del bracere, e di altre pietanze sono un pò scarse, un pezzo di carne in più e 20 grammi di pasta in più migliorerebbe non poco l'esperienza. Cmq positivo in generale

I confess: I didn't know this restaurant and I had booked for a group of friends coming from all over Italy, somewhere else in a very beautiful place, which recently changed management and 20 days after booking, 2 days after my parents arrived. 5 friends, with specific needs (1 vegan, 1 vegetarian, no meat, no food with gluten etc..) stands me up!
The "il laghetto" restaurant was a great surprise: the owner was very kind, super helpful, compliant, despite not being a dedicated restaurant, to all our requests, including a birthday for one of us, with a surprise effect!
For me 10 and praise!!

You gave us a beautiful evening, in a really lovely setting, in the countryside, with a pier overlooking the water where we had an aperitif🫶
I will be back and highly recommend!

15/12/2024: The lunch was decent, generous portions, service quite good because they made a bit of confusion in the kitchen because I had to wait more than half an hour for the three fried foods I ordered when half of my table had already brought part of the second courses but all in all I'll be back to eat because everything is good

Ribs received after 30 minutes, of average quality.
The requested coffees did not arrive and after 15 minutes requested and received, but immediately afterwards they asked us to leave because the place had to close.

Il Birocciante - L'officina Della Brace

31/07/2024: Recentemente ho deciso di dare un'altra possibilità al ristorante precedentemente noto come Birocciante, ora rinominato Obel, ma è stata una delle peggiori decisioni della mia vita. Il cambio di nome non ha cambiato la realtà: questo posto è una truffa completa.
La carne, che dovrebbe essere il piatto forte, è assolutamente mediocre. Non c'è nulla di speciale, né nella qualità né nel sapore. Ho assaggiato carne molto migliore a metà prezzo in altri ristoranti. Quella che ho ordinato era dura, poco saporita e chiaramente di bassa qualità.
Ma ciò che è davvero scandaloso è l'atteggiamento truffaldino del ristorante. Tentano di addebitare costi nascosti e il conto finale era molto più alto di quanto mi aspettassi, senza una spiegazione chiara. È evidente che cercano di fregare i clienti in ogni modo possibile.
Non fatevi ingannare dal cambio di nome: Obel è lo stesso pessimo ristorante con una nuova facciata. Risparmiate i vostri soldi e andate altrove. Sconsiglio vivamente questo posto a chiunque cerchi una buona esperienza culinaria.
