23/09/2025: We've been coming here for a few years, but this is the first time we've written a review, because the place deserves it. We've almost always ordered the so-called tourist menu, which isn't touristy at all: always impeccable fish starters, an excellent mixed fried fish main course, side dishes, and even wine at a more than fair price. Add to that the very friendly and courteous staff and the beautiful view of the Rio Marina harbor, and it's one of the best restaurants on Elba. Congratulations to the management and staff, and see you next year! We want to try the pizza, which looks wonderful...

29/01/2026: An enchanting place in the Elba mountains.
At the entrance, you'll find a blackboard with the prices for each course. There's no real menu, but depending on the evening, there will be an appetizer/first course/second course option, whether meat or fish.
The staff is very friendly and courteous, and they even recommended splitting the appetizer to get the most out of it.
The four of us ordered:
2 seafood appetizers to share (1/2 each)
2 seafood first courses
1 meat second course
1 seafood second course (but there was very little seafood here, and it was only spinach)
1 bottle of wine
2 desserts
Total less than €40 per person
Highly recommended if you like beautiful, authentic locations and first courses.
07/10/2025: A superb experience! The view is impressive, and it feels like you're on the other side of the world. It's magical.
The meal is equally delicious, with fresh, daily specials.
The waitress was also very kind.

03/02/2026: My partner and I booked a table here for one evening during our stay on Elba Island in June 2023. I'll start by saying we don't know what the restaurant is like inside, as we dined on the covered veranda overlooking the sea, which was very pretty. The staff was friendly, but not at all professional or knowledgeable. The service was clumsy and bordering on ridiculous. We ordered two plates of seafood linguine; the pasta was overcooked, and the fish was visibly frozen (which I couldn't understand, given that Rio Marina is located by the sea and Elba offers a wide variety of fresh seafood everywhere). Everything was way too salty, wallowing in the watery sauce. The bottle of wine we ordered wasn't available, so we relied on the waitress. The wine was good. The fried fish was extremely salty and overcooked; we had to leave it because it was inedible. We finished with two terrible coffees, but they didn't ruin the dinner we'd just finished. The bill arrived, if possible, more expensive than the dishes listed above. A real disaster. I never write negative reviews, but that dinner ruined the rest of the evening, and we were annoyed that, even though we hadn't eaten anything, no one bothered to ask what the problem was. I don't recommend it.

27/07/2025: Esperienza decisamente negativa: siamo arrivati in 6 per bere qualcosa, il caffè shakerato non arrivava e quando glielo abbiamo fatto notare ci hanno risposto che potevamo andare in un altro bar. Maleducati è l’unico aggettivo che mi viene in mente. Preciso che solitamente non faccio recensioni o le faccio quando ho trascorso un’esperienza positiva ma oggi non potevo evitarlo.
21/07/2025: Cena sublime. Stasera a cena abbiamo deciso di tornare per la seconda volta di fila in questo ristorante.Tavolo vista mare. Personale molto carino, educato e rapido.. il proprietario… una persona squisita. Abbiamo mangiato spaghetti alle vongole e del tonno alla griglia super fresco. Prezzi ottimi , ma cibo ancor di più . Sicuramente prossima volta a Cavo sarà la nostra prima scelta. Grazie Massimo ci vediamo a Settembre.

08/03/2025: Gentilezza e buon cibo. Erano sei mesi che volevo scrivere questa recensione perché siamo stati lì varie volte durante il nostro soggiorno a Rio Marina ed abbiamo apprezzato moltissimo la gentilezza del personale ma anche i piatti.
1
