03/12/2023: Really cool deli just outside of old town, by Porta San Biagio. They do some hot dishes, and of course bulk meat and cheese. You can get a salume & cheese plate as well. Wine & beer too. But the sandwhiches are where they shine. They do a large number of variations, each one named and described on a standard piece of paper, all hung up around the shop in various places. It’s fun just looking around finding new signs, wondering what you missed so far. There are an assortment of meats and cheeses, different veggies and even fruit that go into them. I had a Bavit which had ham, Porchetta ( a cooked pork), veggies and thinly sliced orange. The flavor combo was wonderful. As my wife said, having the fruit there brightened it up. I wish we had time to go back there and try some more. Not as much meat on them as a typical American sandwich might have (which is standard in Europe, in my experience). Also, the signs are all in Italian, but Google translate helps there. It’s a husband and wife shop, and they don’t speak English. They do have 5 or so tables, and do a brisk take out business.
28/10/2023: Panini superlativi, qualità ottima degli ingredienti, imbarazzo della scelta, la prossima volte proveremo senz’altro un tagliere misto, servizio ottimo, prezzi in linea con il prodotto offerto. Che dire, Bravissimi.

21/03/2024: Walking through the center of Lecce you can't help but stop for lunch/dinner at Messapia. Exquisite, typical and traditional dishes. Informal place and possibility of staying inside or, if it's a nice day, outside admiring the beautiful Castromediano square. Vito, the waiter, is disarmingly kind and friendly and welcomes you with a disarming smile and professionalism. Very kind and friendly owners. Highly recommended.

01/12/2023: Abbiamo cenato in quattro con amici. Una serata di quelle che ti lasciano completamente soddisfatto. Robiola delle Langhe e tartare di Fassona favolose, tortelli alla zucca e tortellini di veleggio superlativi. Tutto accompagnato da un buon vino francese. Non la solita cena, ma una serata trascorsa gustando piatti preparati con cura in un ambiente intimo e curato per pochi intimi. La sbrisolona è stata la ciliegina sulla torta di una piacevole serata.

27/03/2024: Aperitif for two with appetizers €10. Fair price but, let's get to the appetizers. Really small cup of sauce type with crumbled chips, perhaps residue from another consumption? Eight small pieces of pizzas of various flavors. I must say, the size is ok and the filling is really good and varied. The only flaw is the drink which, to stay within the price, standardized by them, you have to choose only one which you then have to split otherwise. Let's say this is absurd. So I wonder why not pay for the drink separately? For the rest, not very fast in table service, not very clean, loud music and a lot of confusion of people.

14/03/2024: Caffè buono e anche il pasticciotto, purtroppo, forse perche è molto frequentato, già a mezza mattinata non si trova molta scelta x la colazione( a volte non c'è nulla) ! Bella la veranda soprattutto quando è fiorita!

19/01/2024: Very well-stocked artisanal pastry shop, we happened upon it this summer and I must say that we had one of the best breakfasts of the whole holiday!
The display case is fully stocked with sweets, savories, crunchies, almond pastries and so on, all strictly artisanal.
I'm lactose intolerant but I was still able to taste some things :) like the typical cake with almond paste and jam, an infinite delight!
The owner was very kind and helpful, she also recommended some beaches to us.
