Zeb In Firenze

Recommended for 10 years by Michelin and... highly recommended. A lovely concept, the food is very good, even if the desserts didn't wow me. Excellent truffle pasta. A lovely wine cellar. Charming cook, but a rather haughty owner who should rethink his attitude (see other reviews).

Both authentic and original. The owner is really nice, making sure I have everything I need. Will be back.

They could have been friendlier. The food was excellent, better than we expected, and at a good price—less than €50 per person (there were two of us). This poor rating is due to the fact that the owner/manager was quite unfriendly. When we walked in, he didn't even speak to us. The assistant, however, was very kind and friendly, even though he didn't know English. The woman was super friendly and adorable, but the manager was the complete opposite. He read us the menu, and we asked him if he could choose a dish for us. Instead of advising us, he made fun of us and mocked us to our faces, along with the diners next to us.

Simply the best in Florence. All perfect from wines, starter, first, second… A place that you are pleased by the chef. What an experience!

My wife and I came here on our honeymoon, and it was an absolute delight! Alberto, his mother, and the staff were all wonderful. The food was amazing, one of the best (honestly, maybe the best) meals of my life. I got the pear ravioli, the rabbit, and the apple pie. They were all cooked perfectly with delicious, complex, and balanced flavor. We loved the atmosphere, and found it very charming. The portions were generous, and the pricing was shockingly low for this quality of food. Although we paid about 60 euro a person, we hadn’t had anything else to eat that day and could have easily spent much less still each had a full meal. We each had three full courses and a glass of wine. We immediately booked another reservation for the following week and look forward to returning. (Also ignore the negative reviews here, a common theme is people went expecting essentially a typical USA restaurant experience and then being salty when it turned out different.)

BEST DINNER EVER!!! Please pay no mind to the negative reviews, chef Alberto is WONDERFUL and we had the best time—we’re even coming back next week! Before coming, know this is not a normal dining experience. The chef has respect for the culinary craft (he’s not Michelin recommended for nothing), and as a customer, you have to go with the flow of the restaurant. There are no printed menus: the chef reads the menu out to you, and you are expected to pay attention and make a decision when he is done. Do not ask for recommendations or “his favorite”—they are all his creations, so just choose one and find comfort in the fact that each thing is carefully crafted and DELICIOUS. Service was excellent, we were well attended the entire time and the pacing of our meals was great. The wine pairings were also spectacular, and every single thing we ate took our breath away. We gave the chef his well-earned praise after each plate!! He warmed up to us after the first dish, and we left the restaurant with friendly goodbyes and a “see you next week”!!! This is an elevated dining experience—do not expect the same service as a random restaurant off the streets of Florence. The chef knows exactly what he is doing, and we’d come back here a thousand times over! Hope he gets that Michelin star next year!!

I love that restaurants like this exist. Zeb was the best meal we had in Florence and among the best we had in all of Italy. It is clear that the chef / owner has a passion for the food that he and his small team serve. Everything we had was excellent. Really excellent. I genuinely believe that anyone who had a negative food or service experience here was likely in the wrong. Don't go to this restaurant if you are simply looking for good food. That can be found anywhere. But if you want to go to a restaurant that is the vision and execution of someone who deeply cares about everything they serve - then go to Zeb. Also, just arrive on time, be polite and considerate, listen carefully as the menu options are explained and don't interrupt. Though that may sound like basic etiquette, it does seem to elude many diners. The wine recommendations were good but there is also a fantastic selection of wine that you can browse on the walls and the wine fridge.

The best quality food in Florence. Amazing wine paring. Perfectly clean and attention to every detail. Family restaurant where owners care about what they offer to the clients and really do their very best !! My favorite restaurant ❤️

Tutto perfetto, ogni piatto delizioso. Consiglio ragù e pici e faraona ripiena. Posto molto tranquillo senza turisti, dove si può parlare e fare conoscenza con altre persone con discrezione.

Difficile à joindre (pas de réponse au mail de réservation, le téléphone ne décroche pas et en arrivant sur place rideau tiré qui ne s ouvre qu à 12h45 alors que l heure d ouverture est 13h30) MAIS Il faut s accrocher et une fois installé, excellente cuisine qui navigue entre originalité (ravioli ricotta et poire) et tradition (Tripa) toujours parfaitement réalisé Le tout avec une sélection de vin au verre excellent Accueil un peu rude mais il faut passer outre : cela vaut la peine
