Zeb In Firenze

Zeb is a go-to favourite for top quality Tuscan food. I’ve been here 3 times in the last 6 weeks and always pleased with the food. Everything is home-made and in rhythm with the seasons. Zeb’s house red is a fantastic value for money super Tuscan.

We returned after years. Everything is magically in its place. The food is exceptional. The friendly owners.

Amazing authentic Italian cuisine and experience, would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Florence. The owner is a great personality with a lot of passion for his craft, which shows in the wine pairing / food presentation / layout of restaurant

Tutto perfetto, ogni piatto delizioso. Consiglio ragù e pici e faraona ripiena. Posto molto tranquillo senza turisti, dove si può parlare e fare conoscenza con altre persone con discrezione.

I can only assume that the negative reviews here are written by those used to the over-the-top insincere service offered on the other side of the Atlantic as we had an amazing visit to Zeb on our first night in Florence. Yes the head chef is a little formal, but he is also passionate about his food and more than willing to answer questions and make recommendations about both the food and the wine. The set-up is a little unusual with all seats being along the central pass next to other diners, and this gives you the opportunity to see what’s coming out of the kitchen so it made for a unique dining experience, especially for real foodies. We had the truffle ravioli, local pasta with ragout, a tripe dish and the rabbit (highly recommend the Pinot noir to go with this 👌), all of which were really excellent, but unfortunately we didn’t have room for dessert. The cost for 4 dishes and 4 glasses of excellent wine was £105/€125 which I think was reasonable for the quality - you could easily pay 50% more in the uk for a lower quality experience. Please eat here if you genuinely enjoy good food!

Difficile à joindre (pas de réponse au mail de réservation, le téléphone ne décroche pas et en arrivant sur place rideau tiré qui ne s ouvre qu à 12h45 alors que l heure d ouverture est 13h30) MAIS Il faut s accrocher et une fois installé, excellente cuisine qui navigue entre originalité (ravioli ricotta et poire) et tradition (Tripa) toujours parfaitement réalisé Le tout avec une sélection de vin au verre excellent Accueil un peu rude mais il faut passer outre : cela vaut la peine

Superlative experience at Zeb's! The place is well-kept and the location expertly exploited to welcome diners around a central island where the chef himself moves and presents the dishes on a blackboard. The flavors are excellent! What I tasted was perfectly balanced and the flavors balanced each other perfectly. Excellent everything from the first course to the dessert. The language deserves a special note and should absolutely be appreciated! The experience was completed by the exceptional welcome and hospitality of the chef and his mother who work in sync with great professionalism and attention. Thanks for everything and see you soon!
