It's hard to eat this well in Milan for a non-Milanese price in Porta Venezia, and you'll also get quality ingredients. The extremely shabby atmosphere—that is, neither trendy nor fresh—is an integral part of the experience. Although it's not attractive, and even perplexing at first, it wins you over with chef Fabio's delicacies, the Lunghi family's English humor, and the heart and soul of all the staff. By day, it's self-service; by evening, it's a restaurant. The food is excellent in both settings. In the evening, I recommend the garlic, oil, and chili pepper dish, which is amazing off-menu (you just have to overcome Daniel, the manager,'s resistance to ordering it).

Great place for quick bite and possibility to try different things at one. Set up like a cantine the daily menue consists of primo, secondo and fruit or desert. You can choose primo and secondo from 3 different selections each. At the end you also get a coffee. Highly recommended.

Perfect place for a lunch break: even though it fills up quickly, the line moves quickly. The food is good and varied, hot and freshly cooked, but the real highlight is the staff: always kind, helpful, fast, and infinitely patient. It's a real pleasure to be welcomed by them. Highly recommended!
