The real star of the restaurant, in my opinion, is the manager: Donato.
Knowledgeable, kind, sociable, fun, and never intrusive.
Tasty, complex, and well-crafted dishes. Fast and accurate service.
The only negative: in my opinion, the prices are above average (compared to 1-star restaurants), undoubtedly due to the cost of the location—which, however, is certainly very beautiful and evocative.

Outstanding. Our dinner here was the cherry on the Materna trip cake. Not for nothing is this a Michelin star restaurant. Very nicely located in the Sassi district in one of the caves. We had the 8 course full menu which was exceptionally good. Nicely curated dishes of huge variation, always referring to the South Italian heritage and Materna. The staff is super kind and creates a welcoming atmosphere. Huge wine menu and good recommendations. A very memorable experience from the starters to the dessert (try the Monte Crusko!)

One of the greatest meals of my life! However, I should warn you that it doesn't come cheap—our dinner for two cost over $400. Nevertheless, the entire experience is truly memorable. Each dish is presented in the most creative ways imaginable, featuring designs like castles and skulls. The five-course meal is substantial, so don’t worry about opting for the smallest choice. The food is exceptionally well-seasoned, fresh, and prepared in ways I’ve never encountered before. You'll even find yourself trying lamb liver that looks nothing like you’d expect. Or black and white dishes! The staff is fantastic, making us feel right at home, and the atmosphere is incredible—you dine inside a cave!

Underwhelming. We had the 7 course with wine pairings. If you go do the 5 course as 7 is a little much. I don't know how anyone could do the 10 course. The wine pairings were good, service was very good but I thought the food mediocre and even bizarre in some ways. Maybe they are trying too hard to be creative and unique. It was by far the most expensive meal we had during our two weeks in Puglia and honestly not even close to one of the best.

During my soggiorno a Matera ho avuto the piacere di cenare nel vostro ristorante and a conservo a ricordo meraviglioso: the cucina is a rare example, the service is impeccable and in fact the extremely gentle personal. The restaurant in the Michelin guide deserves a great and riconoscimento.
E per conclusionre in bellezza, il dessert L’Ultimo Bacio è stateta una splendida sorpresa: delicious, creative and indimenticabili
When you come to Matera, you will enjoy your dinner in your restaurant and have a wonderful souvenir: a rare excellence cuisine, an impeccable service and a great gentlemanly staff. This restaurant in the Michelin guide deserves to be recognized.
Et pour conclure en beauté, the dessert L’Ultimo Bacio is a beautiful surprise: delicate, creative and inoubliable.

Wir haben uns für das Siebengangmenü entschieden und uns aus einer Liste die Gänge ausgesucht.
Zum Anfang gab es etwas Fingerfood auf einem kleinen Modell der Stadt, dann kam der erste Gang - eine Gabel mit in Milch gekochter Pasta, mit Lauchzwiebel und Osietra Kaviar.
Die Pignata 3.0 war Tatar aus Schaffleisch, mit Nduja-Sauce und Pecorino.
Danach hatten wir zwei Pastagänge. Einmal Spaghetti Carbonara mit wildem Spargel und Zitrone, danach Orecchiette mit Rübe, Seeigel, Burrata und schwarzem Knoblauch.
Die Hauptgänge die die wir gewählt haben, hatten es ebenfalls in sich. Spanferkel mit Hollandaise, Spinat und Bonitoflakes - großartig komponiert.
Mein persönlicher Knüller war das Lamm. Hier gab es ein Dreierlei aus Roulade, Hirn und ein Kartoffel brulée mit Wasabi, eine irre Kombination.
Zum Dessert gab es eine Zigarre aus Schokolade, Rum und Orange sowie den „Final Kiss“, ein cremig-schaumiges Dessert, das man ohne Besteck und mit einem Chanson auf den Ohren isst.
Alles zusammen war es ein großartiges Erlebnis mit jeder Menge tollen Ideen.
Der Service war dabei ebenfalls ein Element, der den Abend so besonders machte. Dazu gab es die Weinbegleitung und wir haben einige lokale Trauben und Winzer kennen gelernt.

Our first time in Matera was made even more memorable with the dinner at Vitantonio Lombardo Ristorante!
Service right when one enters the restaurant was perfectissimo like what they call it in Italian! Every dish was not only creatively presented but allowed us to taste the flavours of the ingredients that the chef paired it so well with the sauces, the scent and even the music (for the Last Kiss)
Donato who was helping us recommend our wine was exceptionally friendly and added some good laughters to our evening!
Very pleased that we had a meal in this lovely restaurant!

Local diferente y puesto con gusto y elegancia. Muy buen servicio. Carta suficiente con cierta flexibilidad para organizar el menú degustación al gusto (y al numero de platos). Precios normales y platos muy muy satisfactorios. Grandes elaboraciones como el huevo, o la pizza negra. Muy recomendable.
