23/03/2024: This place has got a lot of good reviews and it makes you curious as to why, but trust me, go and you will know why.
We were fortunate to be "tied" first customers for the new season for their first day.
We ordered the Sorrento bruschette as a starter, it was a classic but great quality appetiser. This was followed by two pasta dishes: Fettucine Paglia E Fieno and Mezze Maniche Con Nduja Calabrese. Both the pastas were exceptional.
We were told that their Fettucine Paglia E Fieno was a popular dish (a table went back specifically to this place having had this dish one year ago and labelled it the top 3 dishes they've ever had)... It matched and exceeded those expectations, it's rare to eat a pasta dish that just completely tastes different to what you're brain is used to, but it does this in the best way possible. And so, we would actually agree to come back to Sorrento for this dish.
And to top it all off, the owners gave us complimentary little treats as a gift for our anniversary trip.
The bistro is a family run business and the owners (husband and wife) were the most wonderful and welcoming people you could meet, Sorrento is lucky to have them!
All the best for the busy period and hope it goes smooth sailing! We hope to see you again soon.
(Note on Google it says they're not open but actually they are - they just reopened for the new season and are NOT temporarily closed if it says so)
11/03/2024: I visited at the end of October 2023 and it was right in front of the accommodation, so I visited because it had good reviews. If it is evening, we recommend going at opening time. Since the business is small, the food doesn't come out quickly, so it takes quite a while for the first customers to come out. Especially on windy days, the tablecloths on the outdoor tables were overturned as customers left after sitting down. On windy days, we recommend eating indoors if possible. The melon prosciutto was average and the pasta was one of the most memorable pastas I had in Italy. Sun-dried tomatoes? The menu items were fresh and good for whetting the appetite, and the cocktails were a bit strong. The very tall guys who looked like siblings served us, and they weren't particularly friendly or unfriendly, but when I told them it was delicious, they smiled brightly and thanked me, but I think they just had a blunt personality. I visited this place with no real expectations, but it felt like I had found a good restaurant, and it was so delicious that I wanted to go again the next day if my schedule was free. I recommend it!
