Vineria Modí In Taormina

It was one of the most memorable and innovative restaurants I had in Taormina. For someone who can't eat much, 6 courses were a lot, but the octopus dish and raw shrimp dish were shockingly delicious... Oh, and the lemon dessert in particular remains deeply in my mind.

Lived up to the hype. Food (tasting) was inventive and very, very delicious. Service was perfect and warm. Wine pairing was great. Recommend!

Fantastic experience, with service and food both first class. We share two starters and one primi, and had a secondi and desert each. The meal kicked off with lovely amuse-bouche and breads. The starters were excellent; flame grilled octopus and steak tartare (capers and black truffle really elevating it from a usual French affair). The primi was their signature dish - a lamb ragu with explode-in-your-mouth bottoni filled with a cheese sauce. The secondis were turbot with mushroom and sea bass with a meunière sauce - both great. The deserts were a deconstructed coffee, mascarpone and chocolate dish - very nice. A lovely jelly also arrived with the bill. The service also needs a particular mention, our waiter and sommelier were both first class and very confident with his menu recommendations. We have eaten some fantastic meals in Sicily over the course of our two-week trip, and this is the best of it.

I have been to many good restaurants - but this visit deeply impressed me on a different level. The food was excellent, but especially the service was more than perfect.

Excellent meal and service. Sommelier was very knowledgeable. We did the 6 course tasting menu - the beef tartare and the charcoal octopus were standouts, but everything was impressive.

We’ve been coming to Taormina for six years now, and discovered this place on our first trip. It was sensational then, and it’s still sensational. The ambience is calm and refined, with highly professional staff, who were supremely attentive. The wine list resembled Encyclopaedia Brittanica, never seen anything this extensive. The sommelier helped us choose, within our means, in a most supportive way. The food was ‘off the chart’, with so many extras brought between courses. The chef here is a genius, a complete genius! On our first visit, some years ago, we couldn’t understand why it was not Michelin starred, so glad to see that that wrong has been righted. It’s not cheap, but oh so worth it. Having said that, neither is it ‘silly expensive’. You will make memories here; it’s an experience of the best kind. For us, it’s the best in town, next level in every way!
