Vineria dei Re In Gubbio

We spent 5 days in Gubbio and came here 4 of the 5! Twice for dinner and twice just to enjoy some fantastic wine before dinner elsewhere. The owner is very personable and knowledgeable...loves to talk with you about wines of the region and makes great recommendations. We were made to feel as welcome as if we were his local regulars! They will open many different wines by the glass...more so than other places we have been that limit what they are willing to open. The wine selection is outstanding and the charcuterie board a delicious sampling of regional meats, cheeses and accompaniments. We particularly loved the Cresia which can be made with toppings of your choice..."bacon" and onion for us was heaven! We sat inside but they also have a nice heated area outside. Please don't miss this spot on your visit to Gubbio...even better, stop here first to get great information about what you may want to experience while exploring wine in Umbria. If only I could have put this shop in my suitcase and taken it home with me!

My wife and I have visited Vineria dei Re several times and thoroughly enjoyed it every time.The host, Marco, is the best; he has always been pleasant, helpful, friendly and accommodating and given us his personal attention. The food and wine are first class. We live in San Diego, California, USA, so we cannot just stop in whenever we feel like it. But Gubbio is a delightful town to visit, and for us, Vineria dei Re is the highlight of Gubbio.

"We always see each other there..." I've been a regular at this wine bar for years, and I can say it's a true destination for wine lovers in Gubbio. The host is a longtime friend, and his passion for wine and cuisine is evident in every detail. The wine bar offers an incredible selection of wines, and Marco is always ready to offer recommendations and introduce you to new labels. The cuisine is equally excellent, with simple dishes prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. What makes this wine bar truly special is the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. When in Gubbio, you simply can't miss this little wine bar, located at 13 Via Cavour! *Highly recommended!*

Fab meal - excellent service. Nice intro to the menu, few giggles and a friendly service. Had some delicious food and yummy wine. And it wasn’t too pricey. Would we go back? YES!

Vineria dei Re is definitely a good place to enjoy Gubbio specialties. The atmosphere is unpretentious, casual, and perfect for a casual evening in a lovely little square in the center of Gubbio. The platter of cured meats and the typical local crescia are delicious, as are the eggs with truffles. The staff are very friendly, but coming to ask several times in the space of a few minutes if we'd chosen (and they'd practically just given us the menus) isn't the best, unless you're spending hours choosing. Do I recommend it? Yes, absolutely, but I think it has the potential to be even better.
