If you go twice for lunch in less than 5 days, I think we can conclude we like this place! Napoli inspired (if I remember well?) where I made had the best meatballs ever, accompanied by an extensive Champagne (and wine) list! Definitely a place to go back to in the future!

sono stato a cena con mia moglie. Locale rinnovato recentemente, arredamento minimalista piacevole, buono il servizio. Personalmente ho scelto le alici imbottite con provola e zucca in scapece, piatto quilibrato e ottimo, come primo cavatelli con fagioli cozze e bottarga anche questo mi ha soddisfatto, materia prima molto buona. Carta dei vini molto ampia, secondo me sproporzionata nell'offerta di champagne (una quindicina di pagine) contro una sola di bollicine italiane, ma pare sia la moda del momento. Unico aspetto veramente negativo la mancanza della tovaglia, solo un blocchetto di ceramica per appoggiare le posate, ma anche questo pare sia la moda attuale, personalmente non mi piace, e non vedo perchè pagare 3 euro di coperto. Complimenti comunque per la cucina. Prezzo leggermente alto ma ad Alba, oggigiorno, è così in ogni locale.

For years now we have been treating ourselves to a "special treat" once a week by going to 21.1. beautiful place where you eat with a background of Neapolitan music which makes their dishes even better (if that's possible). Alfonso, the chef, puts his heart into every preparation and you can feel it in every bite. Francesco is in the room and is very knowledgeable about wines and every time he gives us poetry in the glasses. Top notch service, always attentive, present but never intrusive. Thank you for making our evenings special. 🥂

Abbiamo cenato sabato scorso presso questo bel ristorante. Per noi nati e cresciuti fra Langhe & Roero, finalmente una proposta “alternativa”. Ovviamente c’è la “divina trinità langarola”, ovvero vitello tonnato - Tajarin - Brasato, ma noi abbiamo optato per l’altra parte di menu, ovvero quella legata all’origine dello chef. Che dire, tutto buonissimo: 4 portate, 2 dolci, 2 calici di Altalanga, caffè. Ovviamente non mancano il benvenuto della cucina, così come un piccolo pasticcino per chiudere in bellezza. 100€ totali, più che giustificati da servizio, location e menù. Voto finale: DIESCI!! Bravi ragazzi, continuate così.

Very well-kept, somewhat cool atmosphere but warm welcome. Small menu (positive), huge wine list with a large selection of champagne with 304 positions, plus Barbaresco and Barolo with vintage depth. Everything at fairly calculated prices. We chose the four-course Langhe menu with Vitello tonnato, the best we've eaten so far, with excellent Vitello cooked to perfection and an ingenious tuna sauce. Then tagliolini al limone with the finest lemon sauce, of course without cream or anything similar. Perfectly cooked al dente and with a finely balanced lemon flavor. The Brasato al Barolo as the third course, the finest beef, braised until tender with a wonderful Barolo sauce. A light pannacotta for dessert. As an aperitif an Alta Langa DOCG and with dinner a Barolo Bussia 2015 from Fenocchio, which delighted us more with every sip. An excellent menu in a pleasant atmosphere with very good service at a fair price. Keep it up.

New Year's Eve dinner. pleasant environment. Welcoming and kind staff. Excellent dishes. Very neat and well presented. Whoever is in the kitchen knows how to do their job with great care and skill. Excellent quality. At midnight they offered excellent champagne. Well done

09/05/2025: Thank you. Bacchus sends his regards, food and drinks were excellent. Plenty of portions, luckily we shared, enjoyed the experience and the quality that can be felt on every plate.
02/05/2025: Spectacular. Excellent raw materials. Top preparation between tradition and innovation. There are also fish dishes on the menu which I haven't tried. The pasta (agnolotti, tajarin etc) is homemade, as are the sauces. Excellent meats. Even the raw one. It's worth the stop.

La Ciau del Tornavento

06/05/2025: Let's start with two undeniable points: beautiful location, incredible wine cellar... However the cuisine was a personal great disappointment. I'll try to explain: excellently executed dishes, well presented, but from such a famous, award-winning restaurant, I would have expected that something extra that was missing. Known and unknown flavours, no innovation, no twist in taste. No note of surprise, flat lunch. Service maybe a little slow, but overall good. On a side note: their ice cream is really really good.
04/05/2025: Very noble and very renowned. Maybe too much. Nothing to say about the quality of the raw materials. I was a little disappointed by: Chef who comes out of the kitchen and goes to greet only two tables (they were acquaintances) ignoring everyone else... not very courteous I would say. A continuous coming and going of waiters throughout the room which made the environment less than relaxing (at least 6/7 between waiters, sommelier, room manager, a continuous coming and going that I don't appreciate much) A course requested due to an intolerance was served with only 1 side dish while the one on the menu had 3... it's not so pleasant to see your dish without alternatives while your friends' dish has everything. This has never happened to me in other restaurants of the same level (even in non-starred ones they take care not to make those who cannot eat certain things feel "different...) In short, spending €250 each, I expect a little more attention, which is not given by the sommelier who pours the wine into my glass.... Furthermore, some dishes did not impress me at all.
