The Velando Restaurant, located in the heart of Rome, offers a unique culinary experience that blends the Lombard tradition with the Roman one. The intimate and welcoming environment, with a few well-spaced tables, guarantees an ideal atmosphere for both business lunches and romantic dinners.
The menu is rich and varied, offering dishes such as casoncelli, a typical Lombard stuffed pasta served with butter, parmesan and sage, and Barolo braised meat with buckwheat polenta, which represents one of the house specialities.
The smoked herring with polenta is also excellent.
The quality of the cuisine and the attention to detail are excellent, with a particular mention for the hospitality of the staff.

Small place near Borgo Pio in Rome. Very close to St. Peter's Basilica. In a cozy but still comfortable environment, four people had lunch, choosing different dishes and everyone confirmed the excellent quality. Special mention for the Portuguese cod.

For me the point of reference for Lombard cuisine in Rome. High level environment, trained staff, owner available and ready to make suggestions aimed at your palate. Possibility of traditional Roman dishes. Just outside the Vatican... what more could you ask for?

Wonderful, warm service, delicious food, we felt welcomed and enjoyed the relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. The food is excellent, especially the sweet pancakes with pineapple inside.

On rentre dans le restaurant, il y a sept convives, le patron nous regarde entrer sans nous saluer et continue à pianoter sur son pc pendant plusieurs minutes. Nous attendons donc, nous sommes prêts à repartir mais il finit par venir et à nous attribuer une table. Finalement nous avons bien mangé et pour changer des pâtes, il y avait un très bon osso bucco de veau au risotto. Peu d'ambiance dans le restaurant, donc idéal pour ceux qui recherchent le calme.
