Tourist trap. Served on cardboard plates. Overpriced. The lardo is delicious though.

I agree a lot with Enrico Iozzi's description. The verdict is less drastic: the food isn't that bad. Let's say that we have little to do with Garfagnana: excellent and similar cured meats can be found throughout Tuscany and throughout Italy. The ones offered were good, yes, but what does mortadella have to do with it? Apart from the cured meats, the rest didn't convince me, not even the very little cheese offered, very fresh and with an indistinct taste. The various croutons and omelettes and spelled, all messed up and not very tasty. They seemed to be intended to act as filler.
In the end, however, we ate almost everything. Lots of bread. Nothing was bad.
We did the complete tasting + glass of red wine, water, neccio with ricotta and coffee, spending €58 for two (I think... more euros less). Sad to say, but the places where you escape with "only" 25 are rare now!
I must add one thing: from a place called "Osteria" I would expect at least some first course, such as tagliatelle with mushrooms, or polenta, or soup, but 'there is no kitchen', whoever told me served, then nothing (I wonder where they cook!).
It's a shame because the atmosphere of the place was pleasant for us.

Un piccolo locale a Castelnuovo Garfagnana che custodisce e rilancia tutti i prodotti e i sapori tipici della Garfagnana...location spettacolare...bancone in marmo, altissimi scaffali in legno che ospitano super etichette e prodotti di ogni genere di ineccepibile qualità...due padrone di casa, Cinzia e Valentina, che ti propongono un percorso di degustazione che appaga tutti i sensi, dall'insalata di farro, alla polenta, ai crostini misti con la trota, il tartufo e i cannellini con il lardo...salumi indimenticabili...per finire con i dolci...ricotta e cioccolato, fichi e noci...non si può non provare...

Particular place, reminiscent of an old tavern. For dinner, a selection of tastings of typical Tuscan products is served. It was all very good.
