Despite my limited Italian, I could still communicate with the nonna behind the counter thanks to a translator (an old Italian customer helping me order 😂). They don’t offer cappuccino but they have places to stand and eat, so they allowed us to buy a cup of cappuccino from elsewhere and have it here with their freshly baked bread/pastry (which we didn’t in the end). The pistacchio brioche was stuffed to the brim with a cream of white chocolate and pistacchio, highly recommended. Freshly baked bread was salted and goes so well with olive oil / jam. The apple pie was absolutely delicious with a handmade custard and some melted sugar on top, really divine and very value for money.

A small but charming bakery, well-run, and perfectly located in the city center, yet still very reasonably priced. Well-stocked: they offer a wide selection of delicious, high-quality sweet and savory dishes. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

So so tasty! I had the Schiacciata alla Fiorentina which I can state was the best dessert I had in Italy! Definitely go in for that (although the server said that it is seasonal found in Jan-Feb months only).

Castello di Verrazzano

14/01/2026: A very interesting winery tour. The woman who led the tour (I don't remember her name, but she had red hair) was always very kind and available to answer any questions we had. The wines were very good, and we were also pleasantly surprised by the oil and vinegar. The scenery was splendid. :)
13/01/2026: If you're visiting the area, this is a can't miss. Dan was a great tour through the castle. Wine tasting was excellent. Learned a lot about Chianti and balsamic. And you can order wine that they will ship to your house. Strongly recommend.
