Vecchio Aratro In Torino

This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. A very friendly atmosphere. It reminds me of my grandmother's house. Unpretentious, home-style cooking and incredible service.

A one-of-a-kind trattoria, I'd say. (I've visited a lot of restaurants and trattorias in 35 years of working as a truck driver.) The owner is very friendly and does the job of four people: he welcomes customers, waits tables, prepares coffee, and even takes care of the cash register! The food is good, from appetizers to dessert. All this for only €25, including water, wine, and coffee. I'll definitely be back soon!

A traditional trattoria Good food and simple but fast service

A truly special dining experience in Turin! Vecchio Aratro is a small, incredibly cozy restaurant with a very special charm. You immediately notice that it's not a modern, "pretentiously chic" establishment, but a place steeped in history – almost as if time has stood still. This is precisely what makes the atmosphere so authentic and pleasant. The owner was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. You don't feel like a customer, but genuinely welcome – like visiting old friends. The food was simply outstanding: a complete menu with antipasti, followed by a rice dish, then pasta, and finally a meat dish with meatballs and potatoes. Everything tasted fresh and prepared with great care. A true piece of "old Italy" – highly recommended!

An old-fashioned trattoria/restaurant, no frills, elaborate menus... only home-cooked food, freshly made with whatever the market has to offer that day, so the food is always different from one visit to the next. The owner is incredibly friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is friendly.

An exceptional experience, a step back in time in a historic trattoria where it's truly worth stopping for dinner with friends. The longtime owner of over 40 years welcomed us with the warmth and kindness of someone who hosts you for dinner in his home. Freshly prepared food served from a trolley. A menu featuring fresh, daily-made dishes. An experience worth repeating and recommending to everyone.

I've been going to this restaurant, which I discovered thanks to the I 100 Torino guide, for many years. It's family-run and it's almost like eating at home. There's almost always a fixed menu, but it's very varied and plentiful. The price, which varies between 20 and 25 euros, includes everything from appetizers to dessert, including wine, drinks, coffee, and liqueurs.

I dropped in by chance with friends for a quick lunch at the restaurant I frequented about 35 years ago. I found the same welcoming atmosphere as before, as well as the owner, who was as helpful and friendly as ever. Excellent lunch and good wine.
