Vecchia Osteria del Gelsomino In Roma

A due passi da San Pietro locale con cucina tipica romana. Servizio da osteria, simpatico ma un po’ caotico, con la titolare che interagisce con i commensali ( dopo 5 minuti sai un po’ tutto del quartiere) . Carciofi buonissimi, abbacchio, trippa e polpette molto buoni. Una menzione anche per il tiramisù. Unica pecca la pasta un po’ otre di cottura. Giusto ed onesto il conto (circa40€a persona),data la qualità della materia prima.

It was suggested to me by friends, restaurateurs among others, and it was worth it. They were spectacular.

It’s a tavern folks. That means they love their wine. It shows. We got the 1/2 carafe of their “campaign” wine and was silky smooth with zero sulphites - we could have drank a gallon of it. Full disclosure we arrived here after getting lost and mistakenly eating at a tourist trap across the road, so this wonderful Romany sanctuary was put in stark contrast to the evils that surround and compete with it. I had their meatballs. It a like eating your grandmas home cooking. Nothing fancy but everything you ever want and it cost next to nothing. You have no idea how much we needed this, it was perfect. My wife had their tiramisu, custody and delicious. Come here drink and eat, I think we only scratched the surface of its many delights. The owner (I think) told me to shut up as soon as started babbling my British nonsense to her and told me to get the meatballs, my wife gawfawed with merriment at the exchange and we felt at home! It was a perfect repost to those goddam awful tourist traps around the corner!

We were a group of 12 people....we were all fully satisfied... Classic trattoria....excellent food...impeccable service..!!! Excellent quality/price ratio..

My wife had the roman meatballs and pasta bolognese. The meatballs needed seasoning and were just OK. I had lamb stew and it was good. The appetizer of prosciutto and fresh cheese was excellent. The fresh bread was also delicious. The wine pours were very generous.

Today we stopped by for lunch and the owner was so friendly. She is kind and not to mention the kindness she had... carbonara amatriciana.. tripe and coda vaccinara * it melted in your mouth * everything was top... highly recommended...... go ... the price is undoubtedly not excessive

Made my time in rome fantastic. Such nice people!!! Get the tiramisu, its the best.

I really enjoyed eating here! The pasta was perfect and the People here were so nice and cute 🥹❤️❤️.. I would eat the whole menu Just to see the smile on chef's face 🫶🏻, im sure that i will go there next time when I visit the Rome 💘💘 ( THE TIRAMISU AND PASTA WAS PERFECT)

Ambiente rustico caratteristico ed accogliente. Piatti uno più buono dell'altro: dalla pasta con la pajata alla trippa. Personale molto gentile e simpatico. Prezzi buoni. Fanno anche pasta e gnocchi fatti in casa a regola d'arte. Nel periodo natalizio hanno un bellissimo presepe animato all interno.
