Cozy café with great extras We took a short coffee break here and were pleasantly surprised. The espresso and Aperol were excellent. As a small gift, our coffee was accompanied by a delicious sandwich and an aromatic olive focaccia - a nice gesture! The toilets are well hidden at the back of the café. The outdoor seating is pleasantly designed and offers protection from rain and sun. The staff is friendly and speaks English, which makes the stay even more pleasant. Il migliore per gli aperitivi, persone gentile e cortese!

Affascinante location con volte affrescate e mosaico a pavimento con prezzi nella media. Molto carino, consiglio una breve pausa in questo locale del centro.

Historic café in Trieste located between Piazza della Borsa and Piazza Unità d'Italia offers a nice selection of sandwiches for the aperitif as well as some hot preparations at lunch time. The coffee was excellent as was the attentive and kind service.

Dropped in here for a coffee, I'm English and to me Italian coffee's are so small, however the beer was amazing / German I think !!! haha and the Roman architecture is out of this world. You must visit 👍Funny thing was my wife ordered a hot hocolate and got a cup of warm Nutella! I laughed, and this gave a reason to get another pint!!! Top place.

Doch, ich bin ein Trieste-Begeisterter Alt-Österreicher. Dennoch, das Urbanis im Herzen der Hafenstadt war mir noch kein Begriff. Die besten Tramezzini gäbe es dort, warb ein Freund für das Cafe. Spät, also irgendwann so beim dreiundreissigsten Besuch in Triest entdeckte ich schließlich das Urbanis. Abgekämpft von einem anstrengenden Termin, aber glücklich, das Interview im Kasten zu haben, lief ich dort mit letzten Kräften ein. Ich tauchte in eine andere Welt ein, eine etwas düstere, aber dennoch sehr funkelnde Welt, von Menschen mit gutem Gespür für Design gestaltet. Auch die in Italien oft sehr nachlässig gestalteten Toiletten, versprühten die gleiche Magie, wie die herrlich großzügige Bar. Seit der Entdeckung der Location ist mein Lieblingsplatz stets an der Bar. Ich beobachte die flotte Produktion des Cafes, genieße den Espresso und ganz nach Tageszeit verspeise ich ein Croissant oder zu vorgerückter Stunde ein Tramezzino. Ich bilde mir ein: Diese flauschige italienische Köstlichkeit ist hier größer und geschmackvoller als sonst wo. Womit sich der Kreis schließt. Noch etwas muss hinzugefügt werden: Der Schanigarten draussen auf der Piazza della Borsa, der wird eher von Touristen belagert. Ich verweigere diese Tische vor dem Lokal aus diesem Grund und klammere mich lieber an die lange Bar bis der erste oder zweite Cafe zu wirken beginnt. Um mich dann wieder intensiv dem Flaneurtum zu widmen...
