Umberto In Napoli

A convivial lunch with many friends—there were 17 of us, and they welcomed us on a Sunday without any major issues. Of course, you need to book in advance. Excellent food, generous and delicious appetizers, from parmigiana to broccoli rabe, from mozzarella to prosciutto. A Genovese pasta dish for the first course was also very good.

At Umberto's, there's a sense of history, and indeed it's there. You can order gluten-free dishes without a problem. The spaces are comfortable and the tables are spaced appropriately. Service is fast, but on weekends, the waiters can be a bit nervous, which is understandable given the crowds. The fried foods are light and tasty. The price is in line with the location and the menu.

Pasta frittatas, mozzarella in carrozza, grilled octopus, and seared cod. Truly delicious cuisine, undoubtedly deserving of its two stars in the Esposito Guide to Naples.

We came because a friend has celiac disease, we had a plate with breaded zucchini, mozzarella and rice ball for an appetizer, all delicious. For the main course, pasta with octopus and gnocchi in a sauce with vegetables. Delicious dishes but the pasta was on the edge of al dente, when cutting you can see a thin layer of uncooked dough but edible. Recommended for celiacs.

During our visit to Naples with friends who already knew this place, we went twice because one visit wasn't enough to try all the signature dishes! A must-see, for the high-quality ingredients chosen along with the meticulous preparation that makes each dish unique. A historic trattoria where you can appreciate and savor the best of Naples—the owners are extremely knowledgeable and always smiling, recommending wines to accompany each course. A visit to Umberto's is a must to truly complete your Neapolitan experience! Everything was delicious, excellent value for money, very efficient service, with staff attentive to every customer's needs, and a refined and welcoming atmosphere. We ate very well, I recommend it

The service we received was excellent. No denying it. We ordered a pizza to start and it was excellent as well. We both ordered the Genovese pasta and were not blown away by it. It was good but not great. Probably because up to this point, we had had pasta dishes that blew our minds away!

We enjoyed our recent meal here so much that we came back a second time! The restaurant was cosy and inviting, the staff made us feel at home right away. Their simple menu features many local specialties and every one that we tried was delicious. I also appreciated how many dishes could be prepared gluten free. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for elegant, regional Italian cuisine.
