Very good local spot. Brave the italian only menu and pull out google translate, it’s worth it. Sandwich was amazing and very well priced. Went right back in and got Focaccia, also amazing.

Si tratta di una piccola bottega colma di ogni genere alimentare. C’è un banco formaggi freschi, un banco gastronomico e prodotti alimentari tipici confezionati. I tavolini per mangiare sono davvero lillipuziani. La scelta gastronomica è abbastanza ampia , peccato che non ci sono esposti i prezzi e nemmeno nessuna spiegazione dei piatti ma soprattutto che la signora che ti serve sia riluttante e scontrosa alle domande degli ingredienti e del nome del piatto … mah …

We were just in Matera for 1 week, staying in an apt. We went to a restaurant that we were not impressed with and tend to shy away from restaurants that have menus in 2-4 languages. We came here because of a recommendation and it was amazing. We ended up coming here 5 different times, buying take ou each time and eating back at our apt. The food was amazing, the family who own and run it are super friendly. We are in Lecce now and still taking about the food (eggplant, sausages, pasta, sepia, and fantastic Matera bread among other things we don't know the names of) we bought there. Thank you, Ana!

08/08/2024: I dined in this restaurant and I took the homemade veggie balls with tomato cream and mayo. It was delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant for vegans and non vegans. It has several veggie options, which for Matera is quite difficult. Thank you from Alessandra!
