We were on holiday in Portopalo and this restaurant was recommended to us by a local person. Never was a suggestion more welcome. Chef Andrea and all the staff welcomed us with kindness and professionalism. We have returned several times precisely because of the goodness and freshness of the dishes, updated every day based on the catch. Andrea, the chef, works with passion and creativity, preparing masterpieces every time

A single review is not enough to describe the wonderful evening we spent at Saracenu in Portopalo. We found the place by chance and, driven by the numerous positive reviews, we wanted to try it in person. Needless to say, it just exceeded our expectations. The place is very simple, but the quality of the raw materials and the hospitality of the owners makes the atmosphere magical. The fish is very fresh and Andrea personally goes to buy it at the port every morning; but also everything else from the vegetables, to the sauces, to the desserts is of excellent quality and freshly prepared by him. In addition to this, there is the uniqueness of the dishes that Andrea prepares, proposing them in his own way that left us speechless. The price is absolutely in line with the quality of the product served. One of the best dinners we had during our holiday in Sicily. We sincerely thank Andrea and his wife who welcomed us warmly into their restaurant and made us try some exquisite dishes that we will not forget. Obviously we can only recommend it!!

Siamo stati a portopalo per assistere all’ultima messa in scena della leggenda di colapesce , che si è tenuta sull’isola delle correnti. Abbiamo prenotato il giorno prima e chiesto di poter cenare alle 20:30 . Al telefono mi si chiedeva di poter anticipare, ma spiegando il motivo della nostra visita a portopalo viene accolta la nostra richiesta… come detto era l’ultimo spettacolo dell’anno e quindi si è dilungato più del previsto, al nostro rientro dell’isola ho chiamato per avvisare del ritardo e con la stessa gentilezza ci è stato detto che avrebbero aspettato… morale della favola:

La qualità dei piatti decisamente buona, la velocità nel servizio fuori dal comune, visto che eravamo in 8 ed abbiamo preso 6 piatti diversi… alla fine… si ci torneremo volentieri soprattutto per il baccalà, a mio avviso eccellente. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo e location. Applausi

Excellent family-run fish restaurant. The fish was very fresh and the kitchen knows how to enhance the product in the dishes. Their pasta ro 'saracenu is simply sublime. The raw material is remarkable and there are no ingredients that dominate the others, a sign that there has been a lot of work done on the recipes. Fabulous raw local prawns. Nice find! Very friendly and nice staff.

The place doesn't look very good, it would need a lot of work, but I learned that the business will soon move to premises that are definitely up to their excellent quality. Chef Andrea and his staff are professionally at the top. You can only find the catch of the day cooked to perfection. We tried several of the dishes offered and I can't choose, they are all excellent. I recommend the lemon sorbet because in its simplicity I find it the best of those I have tried. To eat well and without skimping we always spent an average of €50 per person.

Lungo la strada che porta al mare c'è questo caratteristico "ristorantino di mare". L'accoglienza è stata molto cortese e sebbene fosse un sabato devo dire che la cucina è stata anche soddisfacentemente veloce nel preparare le ns. pietanze. Tutto fresco e all'altezza delle aspettative. I prezzi commisurati alla bontà delle portate. Pese freschissimo. Bravi
