We were on holiday in Portopalo and this restaurant was recommended to us by a local person. Never was a suggestion more welcome. Chef Andrea and all the staff welcomed us with kindness and professionalism. We have returned several times precisely because of the goodness and freshness of the dishes, updated every day based on the catch. Andrea, the chef, works with passion and creativity, preparing masterpieces every time Absolutely worth trying, it won't disappoint you.

Siamo stati in vacanza in localita' Portopalo e questo ristorante ci è stato consigliato da una persona del posto. Mai suggerimento fu più gradito. Lo chef Andrea e tutto il personale ci hanno accolto con simpatia e professionalità. Siamo tornati più volte proprio per la bontà e freschezza dei piatti aggiornati ogni giorno in base al pescato. Andrea, lo chef, lavora con passione e creatività, preparando ogni volta dei capolavori Da provare assolutamente, non vi deluderà.

A single review is not enough to describe the wonderful evening we spent at Saracenu in Portopalo. We found the place by chance and, driven by the numerous positive reviews, we wanted to try it in person. Needless to say, it just exceeded our expectations. The place is very simple, but the quality of the raw materials and the hospitality of the owners makes the atmosphere magical. The fish is very fresh and Andrea personally goes to buy it at the port every morning; but also everything else from the vegetables, to the sauces, to the desserts is of excellent quality and freshly prepared by him. In addition to this, there is the uniqueness of the dishes that Andrea prepares, proposing them in his own way that left us speechless. The price is absolutely in line with the quality of the product served. One of the best dinners we had during our holiday in Sicily. We sincerely thank Andrea and his wife who welcomed us warmly into their restaurant and made us try some exquisite dishes that we will not forget. Obviously we can only recommend it!!

Siamo stati a portopalo per assistere all’ultima messa in scena della leggenda di colapesce , che si è tenuta sull’isola delle correnti. Abbiamo prenotato il giorno prima e chiesto di poter cenare alle 20:30 . Al telefono mi si chiedeva di poter anticipare, ma spiegando il motivo della nostra visita a portopalo viene accolta la nostra richiesta… come detto era l’ultimo spettacolo dell’anno e quindi si è dilungato più del previsto, al nostro rientro dell’isola ho chiamato per avvisare del ritardo e con la stessa gentilezza ci è stato detto che avrebbero aspettato… morale della favola: Personale eccezionalmente disponibile, cordiale e preparato . La qualità dei piatti decisamente buona, la velocità nel servizio fuori dal comune, visto che eravamo in 8 ed abbiamo preso 6 piatti diversi… alla fine… si ci torneremo volentieri soprattutto per il baccalà, a mio avviso eccellente. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo e location. Applausi

10/03/2025: What a wonderful evening! This was a recommendation from our hotel… and turned out to be one of our favorite dinners yet in Italy! We received a warm welcome from the owner at the door and were promptly seated. We shared a salad to start the meal-chopped lettuce, cherry tomatoes, dried tomatoes, wonderful Kalamata olives, and coarsely grated cheese with olive oil and balsamic vinegar-fresh, simple, and delicious! I had ravioli with shrimp and pistachio sauce and my husband had spaghetti with clams (that he had been craving since our arrival in Italy). Both dishes were perfection! We were too full for dessert but could not leave without a cannoli that we had seen pass through the restaurant to another table, so got one to go. And got a glass of limoncello to end the evening. (The owner kept our glasses filled,) We have only 2 nights in Siracuse and will probably be back here again tomorrow night for another memorable dinner!
16/02/2025: In un’Ortigia presa d’assalto, dopo giorni di visite intense ed impegnative, pranzo saldamente poggiato sulle basi della splendida cucina Siracusana…..!!!! Spaghetti alla Siracusana ed alici fritte su letto di cipolla in agrodolce…. Servizio professionale, cortese ad attento. Prezzo adeguato.
