Well done, good food, courteous service

Everything was truly exceptional. As if the place weren't enough—it's a paradise where you can eat in December, sitting comfortably in the sun just steps from the sea—the service and food were also superb. The very kind staff recommended everything from appetizers to dessert, and everything was fabulous. Oysters, octopus and radicchio salad, seafood fregola, fried calamari, and to finish, seadas and ricotta and honey ravioli. A true paradise on earth. Well done.

Aperitivo at Poetto, Milanese prices for a supermarket soft drink. Served with a dozen olives. I had to ask for at least some chips, which were served with an annoyed attitude, as if it were a favor. Not even a napkin. If unjustified prices are charged, at least one service should be provided. The customer can decide whether to have two snacks or chips, but they must be served; it's also unwise not to do so. If the customer is thirsty after the snacks, he or she orders another drink. Given the owner's response, I'd like to point out that the aperitivo was the usual €8 each with 20 olives, and I had to ask for the chips. Not a very smart move, because a customer who eats something salty will probably order another drink. The price is for the sea view, certainly not for the service and restrooms.
