09/06/2026: I ate very well at this restaurant, both the appetizer, shrimp cocktail, and the fish-based first courses, penne with salmon, and the dessert, truly superb!
09/06/2026: Well, first evening out in Le Zagare resort, Sardinia, and we went (as you do 1st day) for the close to hotel proximity option, hence why Santa Maria, as well as reasonable reviews. We had Margarita pizza, two seafood spaghetti dishes with chillies, mixed salad and a dessert. Drinks too, as well as coffees which were standard, as we were in the land of good beer and of course espresso! Margarita pizza, well it was classic Margarita, it was good. The seafood spaghetti were tasty too, tho the proportion of seafood consistency was lost somewhere between two same dishes. One plate had more seafood than the other. I know, it’s difficult to count how many prawns has one portion and how many clams the other but when one of the two same dishes has no prawns at all and the other has 2 prawns, it feels a bit of a cheat. Nevertheless, food was tasty and tiramisu dessert was really light and just moreish. Only letdown was the staff. They were very friendly and polite but very rushy-rushy, just waiting to clear the plates as soon as possible and offer the dessert. Maybe they needed the tables, but it felt as though we were being rushed to finish, pay and leave. Overall, good experience. (Oh, and there was no chillies in spaghetti tho they were mentioned in the menu…). 4 stars it was for us!
