Excellent traditional cuisine served in a beautiful farmhouse in the heart of the Literno countryside. The appetizers were divine! We gorged ourselves like pigs. Rating 10

I really liked it. I hadn't been there for years and I had a great time. For starters, there was a generous platter of cured meats and cheeses, followed by simple but delicious first courses. I really enjoyed the polenta with sausage sauce. Their tiramisu, though, wasn't really that convincing. Beautiful location, especially in this autumnal period. The cellar downstairs is beautiful, definitely worth a visit. You can also have dinner there, under certain conditions. Zi Maria, we'll definitely be back.

When you go to Zi Maria, you already know what to eat: porcini mushrooms from Tolfa. The menu is a bit limited: three cold cuts appetizers, but the scamorza with truffle or porcini mushrooms is a good option. There are a few first courses (seasonal fettuccine with porcini mushrooms or pappardelle with wild boar), and four meat dishes (beef fillet, two pork fillets, and guinea fowl). The larded fillet with porcini mushrooms is superb (€28). The wine cellar is fabulous (worth a visit), with a wide selection of wines from all regions.

The place is quiet and very beautiful. The food is typically homemade: gnocchi, fettuccine, and pappardelle are all handmade. We didn't try the main courses because we were in a bit of a hurry. The desserts are also homemade. The quality/price ratio is perhaps a little high, but that's acceptable.

We celebrated our wedding here a few days ago and had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, the owner was kind and always available, the service impeccable, and all our guests were delighted with both the food and the ambiance. I highly recommend it.

La location è molto bella ed accogliente e se si ha la possibilità di cenare all'aperto, come è stato nel nostro caso, si può godere di un pò di aria fresca rispetto alla calura del periodo. Il personale di servizio è stato cortese, disponibile e gentile. I piatti assaggiati sono stati tutti di nostro gradimento ad eccezione delle pappardelle al cinghiale che erano buone ma che non ci hanno pienamente soddisfatto. Ottima la selezione dei vini e dei distillati (il locale presenta una carta dei vini davvero soddisfacente ordinata per cantina e non per regione). Nel complesso buono il rapporto qualità/quantità/prezzo e quindi mi sento di consigliare il locale.

29/11/2025: We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance; it's very close to the Colosseum. As soon as we entered, we met a young Muslim man, either Indian or Bangladeshi, who informed us that the food was halal. Then, a young man named Ayman from Tunisia came along and took great care of us! 😍 He suggested the best dishes from the menu and ensured that all the food was halal. ✅ They explained that the knives, plates, pots, and everything else used were different from those used for cooking pork. After our meal, they offered us juice and suggested places to visit in Rome. 🇮🇹 The food was absolutely delicious! Our order included: - Margherita Pizza 🍕 - Marinara Pizza 🍕 (I think that's the name) - Regular Pasta 🍝 - Caesar Salad 🥗 - Chicken Wrap (it came with bacon, and the chef made it halal for us). Honestly, and without exaggeration, it was the most delicious pizza and pasta we've had in Rome. I highly recommend it! We came to the restaurant by chance, and it was really close to the Colosseum. As soon as we walked in, we met a young Indian or Bangladeshi Muslim guy who informed us that the food is halal. Then Ayman, a young man from Tunisia, came and took great care of us 😍. He recommended the best dishes on the menu and made sure everything we ordered was halal ✅. According to what they told us, the knives, plates, pots—everything they use—is separate from anything used to cook pork. They even offered us complimentary juice after the meal and suggested some places to visit around Rome 🇮🇹. The food was so delicious. Our order was: • Margherita pizza 🍕 • Marinara pizza 🍕 (I think that’s what it was called) • Regular pasta 🍝 • Caesar salad 🥗 • Chicken wrap — it originally came with bacon, but the chef prepared a halal version for us. Honestly, without exaggeration, it was the tastiest pizza and pasta we’ve had since we arrived in Rome. I highly, highly recommend it.
