Trattoria Via Ferrari In Modena

My expectations were quite high given the restaurant's location in Modena, just a few metres from the famous Ferrari Museum, but unfortunately it was a real let-down. The restaurant was almost deserted when we arrived, which in hindsight should probably have been a sign. The food tasted as though it had simply been reheated rather than freshly prepared and there seemed to be little awareness of food allergies, which was disappointing. Considering the quality, I also found it overpriced. Overall, it felt more like a tourist trap than an authentic Italian dining experience. My advice would be to venture into Modena's historic centre, where you'll find far better restaurants, or simply hop on a train to Bologna, which is full of fantastic eateries offering much better quality, authenticity and value for money.

A trattoria with authentic cuisine, a very intimate and almost hidden dining room, and very pleasant service, located away from the historic center but near the Ferrari Museum... well worth a visit...

Highly recommended for Japanese people. I came here seeking traditional Modena cuisine. It's located away from the bustling area, so you can relax, but it seems to be a popular local spot, so I recommend going early. The fried gnocchi and tortellini soup are exquisite. The attentive service and hospitality of the quiet, somewhat gruff staff are wonderful. They're like Ken Takakura (a famous Japanese actor). I tried going again the following night, but unfortunately it was closed. Well, that's Italy, so it can't be helped. It's a restaurant I definitely want to visit again if I go to Modena.

Everything was very good: the food, the atmosphere, the service. It's a shame; a little more smile would have been enough to give everything 5 stars.

The food is good, although not exactly cheap. I strongly advise the owners to keep the place and kitchen cleaner. With a little effort, I think the place's full potential can be realized.

We ate here after visiting the Ferrari Museum. The waiter was incredibly friendly and I'd say the food was excellent value for money.
