I did enjoy the Italian cuisine, specially at this restaurant. I suggest all to Try their authentic Pasta Carbonara. You could fell the freshness of ingredient and the harmonic mixture.
Complimento allo chef, e grazie per una bella serata.

A gem in the rough.
Needed somewhere quick before the rugby. Found this place and thought it would be a tourist trap. How wrong we were. Pasta dishes were amazing and place was mix of locals and tourists. Will definitely return.

Wow! We ate SO WELL!! We started with two house specialties: artichoke and eggless omelette with potatoes and onions... Excellent. Followed by two first courses: bean soup and pasta all'amatriciana... even better. We finished with tripe, giblets, beans with pork rind... PERFECT. Well, we're from Verona, and here Roman cuisine truly welcomed us. There's no cover charge (unbelievable), but €2 for each basket of bread (which is fair). I wouldn't have charged the €6 for the complimentary amaro, which was offered and usually is, but never mind. The fact is that this trattoria undoubtedly has a lower average rating here than we think it deserves, and so: Congratulations! And rightly so...

The trattoria is a bit too basic, with generous portions and good food. The service is disorganized; they got the order wrong, and the dishes didn't all arrive at the same time.

It was edible, but not great. Plus, I ordered two appetizers, one Italian and the other vegan, and the waiter brought me two plates of charcuterie.

At Giggi's, you experience Roman cuisine in its purest form, even though Asians are at the stove. Everything is prepared according to traditional recipes. The Cacio di Pepe and the Abacchio (kid goat) were wonderful, and the anchovy salsa for the Puntarelle was just like Mama's. For coffee after your meal, you have to go to Pompio Bar around the corner, where you should also order a scoop of their excellent ice cream.

You're near a super-touristy spot, but you trust the owners' common sense and the history of the place, and so you trust them (and try to trust them).
Inside, there's a hint of Roman style, forced but just right.
We had three first courses: an anemic Gricia, a mediocre Cacio e Pepe, and a Carbonara that was almost scandalous—overcooked spaghetti, watery omelettes, and a few pieces of guanciale (but also pancetta). In short, I understand that customers, given the area, fall for it, but as a Roman, I feel offended; with a Carbonara like that (and the Gricia too), you offend the Romans, Roman culture, tourists, and even the Pope. I can only review the first courses because we ran away after those. P.S. I always hate leaving negative reviews, but today was my free meal (diet), and I "got" double the amount.

We really had a great time. The welcome was warm, the food excellent, and we paid a fair price. We'll be back!
