We're on vacation in Rapallo, touring Liguria. Genoa was one of our stops, and after asking around, they recommended this place. They make fresh pasta, not industrial-style, and they cook it right in front of you. Takeout is available.
We ordered a classic Genoese dish: Trofie al pesto, with green beans and potatoes.
Everything was authentic, including the light pesto and the artisanal trofie.
Each dish was 5.50, a fair price.
I recommend it if you're passing through.

It's very popular, but... (typical) first courses are tasteless, the second courses are better, and the prices are fair. There are better options in the area, to be honest: maybe we just happened to be having a bad day...

The place is always beautiful, the staff are always friendly, but... But. It must be said that 2020 has made mass tourism even more evident; the place is always packed. The stuffed anchovies were dreamy, the dessert was delicious, but the pesto pasta... It was on another level, starting with the presentation, less careful and with the sauce perhaps hastily added on top of cold pasta. This wasn't Ugo, and we were disappointed. I hope you understand the affection behind these words. The quality of the ingredients, however, was absolutely excellent.
