A restaurant that gives you an excellent experience. The fried steak is top-notch. The tagliatelle with ragù is also top-notch. The tagliolini with mushrooms are also excellent. The desserts are also excellent: torta della nonna (grandmother's cake), zuppa inglese (trifle), and cheesecake baked with berries.

Tullio's appetizer was delicious, and the fried steak was spectacular! Everything was made with top-quality ingredients. The service was friendly, attentive, and always smiling. A beautiful place nestled in the hills, with a relaxed and authentic atmosphere. We really enjoyed our stay, and will definitely be back!

The fried steak was delicious. The four of us had a 1.7kg fried steak, an appetizer, dessert, and two house wines, and we spent €64 each. The price was fair for the high quality of the food.

Siamo stati da Tullio a Montebeni in cinque persone e l’esperienza è stata semplicemente perfetta dall’inizio alla fine. Gli antipasti toscani ci hanno subito conquistato: sapori autentici, porzioni generose e ingredienti di qualità. Come primi abbiamo ordinato due piatti diversi le tagliatelle al ragù e i pici alla salsiccia entrambi straordinari. Il secondo, però, è stato il vero colpo di scena: una bistecca fritta incredibile, croccante fuori e tenera dentro, un piatto che da solo vale il viaggio. A chiudere il tutto, i dolci della casa, che si sono rivelati fenomenali: genuini, fatti in casa e pieni di carattere, proprio come ci si aspetta da una trattoria toscana con una lunga tradizione. Il servizio è stato caloroso e attento, e il rapporto qualità-prezzo assolutamente onesto. Un posto dove si mangia bene, si sta bene e si ha voglia di tornare. Consigliatissimo!

Immagino così come tanti altri (su ogni tavola era presente) abbiamo voluto provare la bistecca fritta. Ma partiamo dagli antipasti, un ottimo giro di fritto: cacio e pera, salvia e polenta con fegatino. In seguito 2 bistecche, fritta e non. La qualità generale della carne è molto buona, così come la cottura, quella della fritta a mio parere ancora meglio delle classica. Ottimi la scelta dei vini

07/10/2025: What's the deal...? The photos turned out great. I made a reservation, so I went right in without waiting. The data connection is low, so search for the menu before you go in~ The meat was really tender. I ordered a bottle of house wine. The wine I bought at the supermarket was delicious. ^^
07/10/2025: I made a reservation through Instagram DM. They said T-bones start at 1.3 kilos, so we both ordered a 1 kilo of the L-bone. The steak was absolutely delicious. I can't stop thinking about it. And the fries were absolutely delicious. A half-liter of house wine was perfect for two. This was the most memorable restaurant of my trip.

Ristorante Pizzeria Mastro Ciliegia

17/11/2025: We’ve eaten at Ristorante Mastro Ciliegia multiple times over the years, and it has never let us down. The pizzas are phenomenal, the calzones are big enough to require a support group, but the real magic is in the primi and secondi. The risotto with asparagus is always spot-on, the peposo with whipped potatoes is pure comfort, and the true showstopper is the deceptively simple spaghetti alla carrettiera—absolute perfection on a plate. Desserts? Also fantastic. Service is warm, genuine, and exactly what you want. And the pricing is beyond reasonable for the quality. In short: consistently excellent food, honest hospitality, and a menu that keeps pulling us back year after year. Highly recommend.
17/11/2025: We stopped here for our first dinner in Italy and this restaurant set the bar high. Inside was full so we took a table outside under the heat lamp to soak up the evening energy of the city. The menu was full of delicious options, so we got a variety. One pizza, the inverno, one pasta, the gnocchi, and the ossobuco to round things out. The pizza was among the best we've had to date with a mix of fresh ingredients. The gnocchi was rich but not overpowering and was expertly plated. I wasn't sure what to expect of the ossobuco but wanted a Florentine dish, and it did not disappoint. Bursting with flavour, the meat was succulent and the plate was wonderfully balanced overall. Service was fast and friendly and the staff made us feel right at home despite only knowing five or six words of Italian.
