Simple menu but delicious, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful it’s really interesting place to go as it’s quite old, and it’s has a cozy environment with a couple of sharing tables, you can also pass through the open kitchen it’s amazing

Trattoria Sostanza, you have our hearts and stomachs forever. The food, the service and the ambiance was second to none. I can't say enough great things. You made my family so happy!

This place is a trip. The menu is limited, but the three items I had were delicious. Prices are high given the basic character of the dishes. Nothing is fancy or in trend at this place, but food is tasty, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is institutional.

I don't get it... All the dishes you are "meant" to get were unbelievably mediocre. The butter chicken and artichoke tart are simply not interesting and not particularly tasty. The highlight was the tortellini in beef sauce - excellent. Would return for the pasta, everything else was sub par.

If there's one trattoria you absolutely must discover in Florence, it's this one. The welcome and service are exceptionally professional; the restaurant is lively (you can see into the kitchen where the chefs work with gusto and a skill that's a pleasure to watch, and tables are shared with other customers while still maintaining a sense of privacy) and cheerful. The decor is timeless and warm, a blend of kitschy charm and cool trendiness. The menu is simple and thoroughly Florentine, perfect if you're looking for culinary traditions. The dishes are prepared with top-quality ingredients, with special mention going to the breaded artichoke heart tart and especially the rib-eye steak, which is presented before cooking—they take this very seriously, it's the centerpiece of the restaurant. The wine selection is also simple and reliable. A superb experience that made me wish I had discovered this place sooner.

Reservations are required. I recommend ordering two dishes: prima and secondi. The atmosphere is rustic but pleasant, and the tables are shared. Highly recommended.

One of the most charming and coziest trattoria in Florence , the ambience is that of a local canteen where you’d hear them chopping their steaks. As for the food I had the pan fried chicken , one of the best chicken dishes I’ve had & excellent desserts However the downer was the Bistecca ( steak ) it’s a cash only enterprise that has an old school vibe
