In this tavern you can still breathe the air of conviviality, joy and sincerity typical of Sunday lunches of the past. The appetizers tasted:
Skewers with provolone and grilled lard.
Grilled larded tomino.
Sweet and sour onions with giardiniera.
The first:
Ears of ricotta and spinach.
Pappardelle with scottona ragù.
The grilled appetizers already indicated a good technique and a good hand, something that I would take into due consideration in the remainder.
The pasta is made in house, the dishes are balanced, delicious, and served in generous doses.
The second:
Scottona steak with a side of chicory.
Here allow me to both be moved and praise the raw materials and the rare cooking done to perfection. The chicory seasoned with anchovies was exaggeratedly delicious.
The dessert with fruit salad and homemade ice cream closed the circle. The variety of wines on the list is decent.
The service was kind, professional and above all smiling. The bill is correct for what was consumed. Reservation highly recommended. Only two small details in my opinion could be improved. The advertising sign placed outside the restaurant on the road is barely visible, and some parts could use a little fixing 😂 For the rest, congratulations! Until next time.

A real Osteria. A home where you feel good, they treat you well and the flavors are authentic. I didn't photograph the dishes because I didn't have the time. Too greedy not to savor them instantly. The photo is for the Patron! Who deserves applause for his family. 😃🤗😋

I went to Osteria Sant'Ambrogio for lunch on a Saturday. From the outside, the place doesn't look like anything special, in fact, it doesn't give an inviting impression. But, as we know, very often the clothes don't make the man. The restaurant offers grilled dishes prepared with experience and knowledge. Excellent! But let's go in order. The family business, if I understand correctly, is really excellent. Mom in the kitchen, dad on the grill and the two daughters in the living room. A round of applause to everyone! The two girls proved to be very knowledgeable about how their parents work and how to prepare the dishes. They were able to confidently answer all the questions asked by a person suffering from allergies. They offered kind, professional and attentive service. The dishes, starters, first and second courses, were all excellent, plentiful and appetizing. The desserts are also good. Service and food therefore top marks! Honest prices. It's just a shame that the environment isn't up to par with everything else. But once at the table it doesn't matter. So, well done everyone! I had a great time and hope to return soon.

As always, everything was perfect, from the familiar and welcoming environment, to the service with Gemma, Greta and Ivana, attentive and prepared, and Donato with his friendliness and then obviously the excellent food... from the starters (try the provola and bacon skewers 🔝) to the homemade first courses as well as the desserts (strachin selad) and above all the meat, the house specialty!

Excellent local food and wine, very friendly and efficient service. Good but really skimpy appetizer skewers, fortunately compensated by the rather generous portions of the first courses. The place is nice overall but you can hear a lot of traffic noise from the road it overlooks. Medium-high prices, perhaps a little too much given the location.
