Spartan service but excellent cuisine... and above all... a wonderful view of the lake. Maggiore...it's worth a visit!

I have had lunch here on several occasions with friends or family, confirming each time that the idea of "always the same" here is synonymous with quality and tradition.
Frank and genuine menu, clear references to Novara and local cuisine.
Mixed appetizers, two first courses, quadrille of second courses and homemade desserts.
House wine and the inevitable bitterness of the friars.
The location is spectacular for the panorama overlooking Lake Maggiore from the top of the mountain that hosts it. In circumstances of total sky clarity, you can see the Milan Skyline!
No frills but polite and courteous service.
Parking in the adjacent woods.

Great atmosphere and wonderful view.
A quiet place to spend a different Sunday with family and friends.
Abundant dishes and menu5 typical of the area with reasonable prices.
We will definitely be back!!

The food here used to be first class, still good but not good enough for a second visit, tasteless and tough main courses although the ravioli were very good. Polite staff, superb views.

Bella la posizione....- una volta che ci si arriva arrampicandosi per la strada che da Massino Visconti porta su al Monte - da cui si gode un panorama splendido sul Lago. Caratteristica la struttura antica, bella la sala, gentile ed efficiente il personale, servizio curato. Abbiamo scelto il menu' degustazione : antipasti, due 'assaggi' (definiti cosi' dalla cameriera!) dei primi, due secondi e dolce. Piatti ben preparati ma porzioni super abbondanti : un vero peccato rimandare indietro piatti cosi' buoni!!
Ottimo il risotto coi funghi e la polenta con le quattro carni!
Giusto il rapporto qualita' - prezzo.

Trattoria housed in a very rustic stone farmhouse, from which it is possible (if not inevitable) to openly observe the entire southern shore of Lake Maggiore, while sipping a drink from the terrace.
The food is really tasteful, traditional and well prepared.
I recommend the polenta with cheese and the herb ravioli, really pleasant and tasty.
It is also possible to take a very short walk within anyone's reach in the chestnut grove that surrounds the venue

Ne avevo sentito parlare molto bene, avevo alte aspettative che purtroppo non sono state soddisfatte.
Forse c'era troppa gente per il contesto e non sono stati in gradi di gestire il tutto.
Tempi di attesa troppo lunghi.
Abbiamo provato il menù che comprendeva affettati e sottaceti (nulla di che),risotto con i funghi e ravioli burro e salvia (molto buoni sopratutto il riso), polenta con accompagnamenti di carni miste (bruscitt l'unico buono, coniglio troppo dolce, salsiccia e brasato nulla di che...ma forse c'era ormai anche passata la fame).
Bere e dolci circa 40€ a persona.
Molto bella la vista ma non penso ci torneremo.
