I wanted to have a lunch away from the cathedral and tourists places. This trattoria was exactly what I was looking for. Friendly service, quick lunch for a reasonable price. Caprese was just normal, it is not a tomato season after all. But I liked a lot the pasta I have never had before - pasta filled with potatoes (I guess?) covered with minced meat and black cabbage. The restaurant is cosy, would be nice for a dinner, too.

We had some of the best food here during our trip to Italy. Each of us picked something different off the menu, and all of us were exclaiming at how good they were. I ordered the tortelli with shrimp and truffles, which was amazing. A friend got the truffle pasta, which was buttery and simple yet perfect. My husband got the grilled chicken on lettuce, which came with the best salad dressing. He doesn’t even like dressing, and we all loved this. Another friend got the bacon and caramelized onion pasta, which was slightly spicy and also delicious. We talked about going back tomorrow just to try another item off the menu. Thanks for a wonderful welcome to Florence!

We came on the recommendation of an Italian, and we're so glad we took it. We were welcomed by the owner, who speaks excellent French and is very pleasant and generous. He was able to advise us on local specialties to try for an aperitif, which we wouldn't have chosen otherwise. They were delicious and original.
For our main course, we tried the typical Florentine ribeye steak and it was absolutely delicious! The cooking was flawless. The meat was crispy yet perfectly rare and served with potatoes. The seafood pasta is also highly recommended.
The lighting and sound are very well balanced.
Nothing to complain about, a restaurant worth trying!

Highly recommended in Florence. Located in the heart of the city, it's easy to get to. They allow you to eat at your leisure and enjoy a relaxed lunch or dinner, socializing with your fellow diners as you should. The decor is very tastefully done, with a simple trattoria-style feel. The staff is professional, helpful, and fast. The appetizers, first courses, second courses, and desserts are all excellent, both in terms of ingredients and preparation. The tagliatelle with wild boar is delicious. The price is excellent considering the quality of the dishes.

Was recommended this restaurant by the receptionist at my accomodation. Excellent food, priced well for Florence, serving was generous and fulfilling. I loved the fried bread. The wait staff were courteous and the overall atmosphere was authentic and local. San Pierino did not disappoint 😌
